Hey, I'm Jake. Formally known as iRhymer. Recently Iv'e been investing my little game dev time in learning how to do custom pixel art. So far I think I'm doing pretty well, but I'm open to learning more. Here I will be posting any random pixel art I make and the basics of what I will use for [Insert Game Title Here], and hope for comments and critiques.  ;)

All you base are belong to…Wait, this is a sprite. Lil things could have some potential if you plan to create tiles with them, it would probably be a cool lookin style(Of course the tiles would have to be small too). Maybe make them a tad bigger, it's really hard to see any detail, gotta squint real hard =.= Other than that, thumbs up!

It's better to not use lines inside of a really small graphic, since you need to "pack details" in a very reduced space. Instead of that, try to difference areas using colors and shadows. In this example… well, I think that it illustrates in some way... at least I hope so.

Left one has inner lines, right one uses shadows to difference between "objects".

Hope that it helps you, your attempt seems pretty well, keep up spriting ;D,

@Jeff:

> is it supposed to be all pixelly?  I don't like it much resized like that.

Yea, and I didnt just resize, I remade it pixel by pixel, with each "pixel" being 2x2 rather then 1.
Im not sure, but pixelated was the style I was going for, I guess we will see how it looks with tiles?

edit: Oh I realized the problem…with the new resize, theres a lack of shading. Will fix that tomorrow. Off for the night.

That's pretty much what resizing is, just the longer way.
I'll look better if you didn't have it.. pixelly. At least trial a '1 pixeled line' base, see how it looks.

When I tried resizing normally it just blurred (in PS, Paint, & GG)

I will try, but my goal was Pixelly Snes style graphics:

Snes graphics.
Anyway, does the new bigger version have a 2px outline? Looks kinda strange.
And there's not a lot of programs that can resize pixel stuff without adding anti-aliasing. One of them that do not is GraphicsGale, I think.. Could try it. Anyway, you will still have the issue of outlines not being 1px if you just resize, need to make it that way on your own.

I like it! However, you should make it so the swing of the leg and arm are opposite, since that's how people usually walk like. It'll look more natural.
