Rotflturion
**Heya! In this thread I will post the latest screenshots of our project - the Age of Wizardry.**TIA for all the comments. **CONTRUCTIVE** criticism greatly appreciated.**- General:**The graphics are top-down style![](http://img850.imageshack.us/img850/4876/screen3hx.png)Northland cold area sprites [snow, mud]![](http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/6575/screen5nt.png)**- [WIP] Tutorial section:**First room - where the new players log in[don't mind the blue teleport thingy. It was changed already]![](http://img97.imageshack.us/img97/7766/screen7lf.png)Second room - fighting in practice, and explaining a little the item usage system [key example]![](http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/7645/screen8gv.png)[wip] Third room - trap spikes, cave walls and slightly edited locked doors]![](http://img847.imageshack.us/img847/6668/screen9l.png)–-More will be posted as the project continues.**WARNING! Medleyy
Looks nice, and I appreciate the house style, but I'm confused about the walls of the houses in relation to the sprites. If I were you I'd double the thickness. It's pretty cool though. An interesting angle instead of the whole generic RMXP sprites and tilesets everone rapes. Rotflturion
Thank You for Your comment (:About the walls - they are the 'wooden plank' style. Player can walk very close from every side, as I did not use the 'block' attribute here, and instead just directional blocking. If I make them any bigger, they will overlap with player sprite - besides I felt weird making 'whole block' wooden wall P:

Kusy
@Slime:> Wygląda całkiem nieźle, ale śnieg razi w oczy :D.Angielski - urzywaj go.Well, this could work better if you'd remove the tile movement and used pixel movement instead.
Rotflturion
I don't think so.And it's "używaj". (:
Fuu
These graphics are fantastic. Only thing I see is yes, the plank walls are looking a little thin, and the snow on the dirt looks a little strange.OH, and what if you added shadows? ;D

Just a slight edit, but I think they look a lot better this way:![](http://img842.imageshack.us/img842/1292/screen10b.png)About shadows - I would gladly add shadows and lights to everything, but sadly this engine does not support transparency.. If it would use PNG files [which are WAY better in everything than BMP] then yes, but adding pure-black splashes and expecting player to think these are shadows and not void is not what I want to do. ):
juvanio
Looks nice, so It's like a Maze game? The Sprites for people doesn't look like it's a person.
Rotflturion
@Juvanio:> Looks nice, so It's like a Maze game? The Sprites for people doesn't look like it's a person.More or less. The game will feature normal towns and areas like forests and so on, but the main challenge will remain deep underground - mazes, ancient ruins, dungeons, caves and so on - all full of riddles, traps, pissed monsters and of course loot (:What do You mean about the characters? This is a top-down [true top down, like in early GTA], so You don't see the sides of people.

Rotflturion
Uhm, did some water.. This took me like an hour of experimenting - the bottom of the river should actually be darker than the sides, but then it either looks like crap [non-dimmensional], or (if I make it too dark) the water over it is not visible.![](http://img508.imageshack.us/img508/2018/waterzj.png)**Previous tries:**>! First one, doesn't look like a river at all![](http://img835.imageshack.us/img835/2559/watertest.png)>! Rotflturion
Thats probably because I played that game for ten years, so I got used to that kind of style P:

Rotflturion
And what is so sad about that, given I was spending like 1-3 hours daily there? (;
Kusy
Playing Tibia for 10 years. Wasted 2 and was sad enough for me.

Rotflturion
@7:> I like the second screenshot in the spoiler…also, the first screenshot can be used for the likes of puddles, etc.>! Yes, the first one might be used for such stuff - for now I need a river tho (:Isn't the second one a little too dark?@Kusy:> Playing Tibia for 10 years.>! You got what I like to call a 'Haters mindset'. I will not go into detail, but if so, then go and tell football star that playing football for 10 years is sad. Go tell a chess master that playing chess for 25 years is sad. Because basically it's all about entertainment, fun and hobby - doing something You like. I presonally like MMORPGs and You are nobody to tell me if it's sad or not, as long, as You don't know me in real life. :)>! And also, I love kids who "hate" Tibia [and other stuff] JUST because everyone hates it. These people are like sheep - everyone say that 'xxx is bad', so it must be true! (:**ITS:**Some more nature, stones, flowers etc. stuffed behind the 'First bank of Somewhere'![](http://img88.imageshack.us/img88/1493/kwiatkikamyczki.png)
zade_o
The transition tiles are too straight edged for my liking, especially with how non linear the tree edges are.
