    Gaming Idea

I was just about to say - "Can Wikipedia not explain things in Layman's terms?" - But, luckily, there was a breakdown of the general structure of a GDD. The only problem is, it makes it seem like a WIP up to an extent, and, by posting a GDD with the games summarised basis, I wouldn't want to give the wrong impression. You have obviously had experience in this context, however, so I will be sure to create one and update this post as and when it is more coherent.

    Gaming Idea

Hello, This post is a bit of a thin line between recruitment or the offering of assistance on one of my own ideas. I would like to create a game based on the collection of books by the novelist, Terry Brooks, widely known as The Shannara Series. The Shannara Series has combined many a direction, using the modern times of The Knight and The Word series, the post apocalyptic times of the Genesis of Shannara Series, The more recent direction of the new worlds creation in The Legends of Shannara series and the most popular Fanatasy basis including the Sword of Shannara, Scions of Shannara, Voyage of Shannara and High Druid of Shannara Trilogies. I would like to base mine on the more famous Fantasy Direction as a from of Sequel to the ending High Druid of Shannara. I would like my plot, of which is still in the process of being written, to involve the destruction of the new Druid Council with the resurfacing of the Warlock Lord. With the Druids, and Paranors Destruction, The Magic scatters across the lands bringing forth the dreaded Shadowen. Shadowen are creatures formed of excess Magic that feed on any magical potential held within individuals. Essences of each story will/may return in this adventure. Including journeys to the ruins of the Old World and times of The Word, The potential survival of the Maw Grint and the book of promised power, The Ildatch. The books unveil many races and many class potentials. Unfortunately, I am very new at anything to do with Eclipse or CS:DE and would like to recruit a team, regardless of how new they are to their preferred side of gaming developement, to work around and with my developing sprite work. My time, as with a lot of people past the age of 16, is primarily taken with work, but I will be applying my time to developing my own skills and researching other MMO's as to obtain potential material when during my own time. If interested, please feel free to either answer here or over PM.
  4. I dont even know what a sandbox mmo is O.O Your general outline for this game appear to be good…I believe it just needs more personal input rather than hiring a team to do everything but change your under pants. Bad metaphor, I know, but I hope it got the point across. Learn a part of gaming creation yourself and cut down on the quantity of people you need for a team....Also, again, WTH is a Sandbox except for the obvious.

    WIP Pixel Art

Just a quick "throw my two pence in"…. Along with Kreators offering of un-transitioned tiles, the game Dragon Warrior Monsters also did not have transitional tiles.
  6. ![](http://media.thatguys.co.uk/uploaded_images/Scotts-porridge-oats-large-783007.jpg) More of a Porridge man myself.

    Edits of Breeze.

I like the adaptions you've made. I can't believe this is the first time I've seen proper eyebrows on a chibi base. I also like the color palette you've used for the differences in skin tones. From the lesser experience encompassing my own skills, I can't really give you any advice in regards to improvement. If you use them for a project, I wish all the luck. It certainly seems like a good starting point, graphically.
  8. @Crest: > "this battled really happened. I can promise you this picture isn't photoshopped" Something that;s a combination of Lassie, Nacho Libre and War of the Worlds would make a great Movie :D

    My game

That was actually rather funny. I do also like the appearance of the game. Although, yeah, the tilesets don't match whatsoever, first thing I thought when I saw it was…."This is what things were always leading up to: Long, Pink Haired Guy vs Pink Blob....Kick Him! Kiiiiiccccckkkkk Hiiiimmmmm!!!!" That's pretty much the simplicity of my mind
  10. Don't worry, I knew what was meant by "Stand to Attention". I couldn't really comment on him looking like a fat, Military man. So I commented on the fat instead. I took mister "Heart Shape's" (I don't know how to make a heart on my keyboard) advice and, in all likelihood, copied it. But my base does look a lot better now, now I just gotta start on the template. EDIT: Oh, I will leave the final pose on here though. Further advice regarding positioning etc would still be grateful. Adaption to the template as a whole could then be made.
  11. Wow…Why didn't I think of that? *beats own head against the wall* Looking at it, I'm assuming you made the divide and just knocked the other pixels over one. Still, thank you, that's just what I'm looking for. I bet that came so easy to you as well....
  12. I'm only basing it off of my own body proportions…. :) It would just be useful if I knew how to divide the legs without making everything too small for rest of the base. Being able to divide the legs would allow for better customization and detail regarding lower body clothing without them seeming to meld together where the legs join. It's infuriating.
  13. Aww….Cute, they got bug eyes....I used to love the big, bug-eyed character styles. I'm assuming the tiny legs and arms were meant to be a design aspect. A little Shading never hurts of course and if you do decide to shade, you may find it better to make the characters outline a little prominent by making it darker. Otherwise....its pretty cute.
  14. You seem to have as many problems with body proportion as I have. Your Sprite uses a lot of striaght lines to portray areas of the body that should be slightly curvier/shapely. I know you are going for a cartoony style, but do remember, even cartoons have a fairly accurate shape to their real-life counterparts. Unfortunately, because of my own inadequacies, I would find it hard where to begin with yours. Maybe you could use the waist as the slimmest point, allowing the torso to curve in toward the waist and the thigh to curve back out allowing the legs to take a shape of their own.
  15. @Composer: > … did you checked my channel? I uploaded lost wood video too. Even before you requested > > Link if u cant find it: > > http://www.youtube.com/user/ComposerCookie?feature=mhee#p/u/5/qrpTDaQ8-ak Yeah, I saw it after I posted :) As usual, sounds good. As I said on one of your videos as a comment; I've never really been in to Piano's, never really liked the sound they made. But, it brings back memories of so many melodies that entrapped me when I was but a secondary school boy that I just cant help but thoroughly enjoy it.
  16. Updated Any Advice and Criticisms are welcome; anything that will help in improving as I currently do not know where to alter to make it look better without first making it look worse :)
  17. Why am I looking at an image that reminds me of combination of a British Gas advert and a High Pollen Count? And it hurts my eyes.
  18. May I make a request? I'd love to here you play Saria's Song from Ocarina of Time. Pretty Please.
  19. Maybe I got it wrong because I'm generally Fat. Thank You for the hints though. I'll definitely attempt to make use of them without making it look like his weight is about to break his knee caps. Thank You Her0
  20. I suddenly have a keen interest in the Piano….Heavens knows why. I think my favourite was Zeldas Lullaby though. Its one gaming melody that has always stuck in my mind and you hit every note spot on. I've subscribed as I look forward to seeing what else comes up.
  21. @Fuu: > Dem thighs. Aye….Tundra Thighs Ill update tomorrow.....I got the arms sorted at least, but I gonna need some time on sorting the legs. I just wish I knew what to do to narrow them without making the sprite itself look worse than it does now.... *ponders*
  22. OK, I have been having loads and loads of problems with general scale sizing when attempting to create a good Character Base. My primary problems were with the arms and the legs. Now, I have returned to making a Chibi Sprite, better than my previous, as to get to grips, at a smaller scale, with general ratio of body parts against eachother. This is my current attempt: ![](http://i788.photobucket.com/albums/yy161/MJBrophy/Personal%20Pixel%20Artistry/BrophyChibiBase1Tester.png) Now, a few things I have already realised, and one is the reason for me posting this. 1) The Arms are too short, I'm currently attempting to remedy this now, although its taking a while to make it so he isnt looking like he is raising his shoulders to bulk himself out. 2) Legs. At first, I didn't think the legs looked too bad, in my mind they appeared to be rather well scaled against some other parts of the body. However, the other half of my mind thinks they look too chunky. If anyone can give me any idea that I can use as a reference to complete my front view standing base, the criticism would be met with relished appreciation. Otherwise, I personally do not feel the "shading"/"shadowing" is too bad and I am generally very happy with the result. Its just the odd things I still need to practice. Thank You for reading, I will post any further improvements and alterations to this first post as and when they are done. EDIT: I am useless with eyes too. I *ahem* did copy the Breeze Revolution eyes; everything else is "custom" I guess you could say. **Revised** Just updating. Fianlly got the legs slimmed by directing the pixels inward at a slope towards the feet rather than just using vertical lines to make them seem slim, but otherwise square. I'm fairly happy about the feet, but there has to be something more I can do for them. Unfortunately, Her0, I wasn't able to take your advice about the gap in the legs; for a base this small, I am not too sure it would appear quite right. Either way, they are slimmed down now and I would like to show it for scrutiny, criticism and advice for further productivity. Revised Sprite: ![](http://i788.photobucket.com/albums/yy161/MJBrophy/Personal%20Pixel%20Artistry/BrophyChibiBase2Tester.png) This Sprite is 1 px shorter than the first I posted. **Revised #2** OK, the second revision shows the legs divided as thanks to our Heart Shaped members wonderful and easy to follow advice. It is definitely coming together. I would still like to have the feet angled forwards at some point. But I going to try and make it so that it doesn't look too square. Otherwise the base is almost complete. Revised Base #2: ![](http://i788.photobucket.com/albums/yy161/MJBrophy/Personal%20Pixel%20Artistry/BrophyChibiBase3Tester.png)
  23. So you're sayimg you wouldnt recognise that from a distance? I know plenty of successful businesses that only use text as a form of logo. In my opinion, a logo is just something that you can visually register as symbolising a specific product. If I saw the forum, then 2 weeks later saw the logo as an advertisment; it would seem familiar and I would be aware that it belongs to a product I have already seen. I really like it, as Kreator said, it symbolises both genders, its vibrant and well designed.
  24. @S.J.R.: > tl;dr it's a me, Mario! I actually went to work as Mario once…..They told me to take it off because it wasnt uniform.
  25. Robins making me jealous. I work for a Plumbing firm as a qualified NVQ level 2 Plumber, and I'm only taking home £1,250.00 I work 5 hrs longer than you every week. Still, the Eastern Europeans aren't that bad. The Romanians who work with me are hilarious….funny buch of effers.
