Hello

I need a name for my game, as a base before I begin anything else.
Here are a few details:
:star: In the game, you gain scrolls that can be traded for spells and money.
:star: Money is a big part, as is rare items and scrolls.
:star: It's main selling point is it's unique and diverse style.
:star: I was thinking like two word name e.g. "Rune Scape" or "Face Book"
:star: I am going to make add ons etc for this game, so it needs to have a game that would fit with a sub name.
:star: If you need any other information, please ask.

Thanks Guys!

you could call it Twilaria and no one could care…though thats more than two syllables. If you *want* a name associated with your game i would suggest already have designed a complex storyline. otherwise whats it matter? maybe brainstorm some ideas that you want and poll them here. no one knows what you want better than you.

Why does this kind of thread always come up? There's only a few important points when naming a game.
-Thou shalt not include the word 'online' in thy name
-Thou shalt make it short and memorable
-Thou shalt know it does not need to be pertitnent to the game, but should it not be, it must be generic
-Thou shalt wait before naming thy game
-Thou shalt construct thine story before thine name

I think that's most of it. Those are some of the most important anyways.

Tales of extremely forgotten lands online. Now, time to create a story.

Ragnarok online was named as so to disambiguate from the single player games.
Ptc and lor apply to the same principles above.
Retarded online was meant to be dumb.
Never heard of Age of Empire QQ

There are certain times to use a word, and when not to in a name. If it is beneficial to use a word to avoid confusion then so be it. Naming a fresh game with online may seem a bit amateur like because the word online has nothing to do with the story.

Exactly. The word is boring and generic now. Its only use is if you make a game, then make an online game based on that (which often turns out bad).

Also another important point: Make sure it has a domain available.

Rory, Seb & I just come up with generic fantasy stuff and push it together.

It's cheesy but it sticks in your mind.

Crystalshire, Crystal Harvest, Silverdale, Godborn, Wind's Nocturne, Crystal Birth… We like crystals if you couldn't tell.

Stop worrying so much about the name and simply make it work. The most stupid name ever can be taken seriously when your project is presented professionally.
