Drummerpete
Just wondering if anyone has used the [UDK](http://udk.com/) before. So far it looks really good.I get how to add/edit maps and everything; what I can't figure out (after two days of searching) is how to edit gameplay.Any links or information would be helpful. cheatking
Isn't it jusrt c?After a quick search it looks like a built in scripting language?
Drummerpete
@Mr.:> Isn't it jusrt c?> > After a quick search it looks like a built in scripting language?Yeah, the UDK isn't open source, it has a scripting language. The problem is, none of the tutorials I found really explained how to use it. >_>
iSnow
UDK is pretty complicated if you've never handled 3D engines before. I don't know much about operating that thing, but I've tried it before. I'm pretty sure you script events depending on object.I would look up how to script certain things in UDK, might point you in the right direction. Here's a link:All his videos, I found, were about level development. That part is easy enough, it's just getting used to the level editor.
saadhamza
Ah, alright, so to add new game play elements, you need to use UnrealScript and create prototypes:http://udk.com/features-scripting.htmlApparently it's not that difficult to use, but i can't guarantee anything as i've never tried it.Here are some tutorials for that:http://okita.com/alex/?p=444http://forums.epicgames.com/threads/708162-UnrealScript-Tutorial-Serieshttp://udn.epicgames.com/Three/UnrealScriptHome.html (This one had a Lot of stuff)Hope that helps a bit
Yxxe
This is what I'll be using once I get started with UDK. One of my Uni lecturers recommended it: [3DBuzz](http://www.3dbuzz.com/vbforum/sv_home.php)
