I was just wondering if anyone plays either BF3 or MW3 on ps3 and if anyone wants to join my clan. So if anyone wants to join my clan PLZ add and message me on my Pikachuu_OG account, I might 1v1 you, Win or Loose you probably will get in the clan anyway the clan applies to BF3, MW2, MW3 and BO if you want any hacks on MW2 I could probably get one of my friends to get you to 10pres lvl 70 but, im not hacked on my clan account, also if your ABSOLUTELY DESPERATE FOR A NUKE THEN I COULD HOOK YOU UP WITH: UAV, Aimbot, Jumphack, Wallhack and Long range knife.

So dont buy it?

For people who actually have been playing these games its nice to get a change of maps, guns, kill streaks etc. Also each one does play differently.

Also your only talking about the multiplayer aspect. Each game has a full fledged brand new campaign just like any other game. They are actually extremely well done. I find most people making this argument dont actually play the shooters and are just using the same arguments as others.

The dlc is extremely annoying. Especially the yearly fee for the "Elite" version you have to pay for now a days if you want anything new.

I guess this is the same old argument people have been having for a decade though :P.

The "campaign" isn't anything that different though and the gameplay is not different. It's still the same rail shooter. Player choices and actions (or inaction) don't affect the narrative or characters in any way except for occasionally a "player choice" plot device thrown in. Not that they don't have a good presentation or decent pacing (atleast the Call of Duty series always has been decent in that regard). But nothing fundamentally changes each game; so much focus is doing the same thing and nothing progresses on making the world more immersive or characters more dynamic and persistant.

That could be said about many series. I guess the difference is most stop at like 2 or 3 games :P.

Either way, i jumped in at black ops so it doesn't seem to repetitive to me yet. Though i can see where your coming from.

I stopped playing shooters for the story long ago, save for Gears of War, I liked that story. Only a multiplayer FPS player. I just have no interest in general realistic war based scenerio's. The early call of duty franchise wore me out on that.

However, I'm curious your thoughts on how to "spice up" the genre? Because really, an FPS for the most part ISNT about affecting the narrative. The narrative is the point.  The point of the genre is shooting things while following the story. Its more a skill type game then a story type.  It just helps to have an objective when your shooting npc's. But most FPS story's in the bigger franchises are not bad at making you care what happens, even if its a predetirmined outcome. Its more an interactive tom clancy novel then a sandboxish scenerio.

As far as multiplayer, you really CANT tweak it much, outside of game modes.  Multiplayer shooters are a skill based competition for the most part, you dont WANT gameplay mechanics being all screwy. You just want to go out there and prove your bette rthen your opponents, its a competative thing.  The FPS with the most stray in play format I can recall was Shadowrun, which had al kinds of crazy abilities and magic thrown in. Awesome game I'm sad they stopped running the server for.  But even that stuff was soley focused around a competition of skill.

I think the genre is fine and its core premise is still intact. I dont think it should be messed with too much

I personally prefer Battlefield 3, as it gives more of a realistic war feeling to the battlefield as opposed to shooting fox's in a small coral (in mp)
