Aurelijus1
What to do if some of engines have almost empty frmMain forms? And when how can i edit game gui if frmMain are empty?* * *I can see only admin panel gui
GalacticGlum
This is because the engine is a DX8 (DirectX 8) engine. Meaning everything is rendered via code including the GUI.

BeNjO
meaning the pictures are rendered and you edit the pictures them selves in the gfx/gui folder and then the game renders them onto the frmMain when called.> Directx8.RenderTexture Tex_GUI((PICTURE # HERE), x, y, 0, 0, Width, Height, Width, Height

Coyote
Take a look at your data files in game folder. You should be able to find gui there. If you want better gui fitting your style then you should learn to code if you dont know how to.Good luck
Joyce
Deduction and code tweaks, as well as visual thinking really. If you change sizes and layouts you'll need to tweak the code that goes with it.

GalacticGlum
I did a tutorial on adding another button to the GUI in DX8 you could use that as reference.http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/thread-49.html
BeNjO
Buttons are rendered as a button not as GUI, you just change the rendering position of button> Directx8.RenderTexture Tex_Buttons(BUTTON NUM #), X, Y, 0, 0, Width, Height, Width, Heightand make sure the input is correct too. Not wanting to go into detail as not sure how it works in your engine, And you'll learn more figuring it out xD.

Mohenjo Daro
I personally use Paint and see where the GUI stuff is and then tweak it in the code until it's lined up right
Aurelijus1
i had been doing it same as you on DX7
Mohenjo Daro
Yeah, but in DX8, you have to find the code that places the GUI item you want to move around, and you edit that code rather than a visible button
Genusis
Well the biggest Difference is DX7 works along side of the GDI while DX8 does not. If you try to use DX8 with the GDI it will not work well and sometimes will not work at all. This is because DX8 takes the context away from GDI. While DX7 will share the context with GDI. This is the main reason why DX7 is slower than DX8 but the downside is you lose the capability of the Drag and Drop GUI system. If you do use the GUI system along side DX8 you may encounter errors.
