  1. I don't see anything really wrong with the background, I think it's better then if it were just plain. However there isn't really anything in the logo that makes it look unique or stand out from the rest. I'd experiment with flames like what other people are saying.
  2. Random colors/textures/motion blur and awful font with random bevel effects… Doesn't sound good to me or look good really.

    Tileset revamp

    Really like the look of this. One thing you might want to change is the dark brown outline going around the bottom half of the leafs. Just changing it to dark green I think would give the same effect of making it stand out without having a weird nonsensical color in the mix.   8. Hello fellow Eclipse members, I've been pretty silent on these forums lately, but I've been busy with my art. If none of you have seen my art yet feel free to check out my blog –> [HERE](http://forrestimel.blogspot.com/) I still have a passion for wanting to create games though, and lately I've been slowly but surely working on a game that I have a huge desire to make a reality. It's a monster fighting game. My goal with this game is to take common MMORPG features and combine them into a game similar to Pokemon. I've been a huge fan of pet and monster games for a long time and so I thought one day, "why not combine these features all into one badass online game? And I'm tired of the common generic pokemon style being used everywhere, I'll put my own style into this game." So, I thought to combine features from games like Digimon and Pokemon, and even Dragon City on Facebook. Anything to make this game more diverse but still familiar to players. **Graphics** We want graphics to not look so kiddy, we want to attract all those veteran pokemon and digimon and neopets players out there and get them back into the virtual pet games they grew up and loved. But this time, the pets have matured a bit into badass looking beasts that aren't afraid to get a little bloody. "Gasp! Blood?! Don't be absurd! In Pokemon the creatures just fainted so it was ok!!"… Well, too bad, in this you do kill monsters. And yes... There will be blood. **Summary of Gameplay** So to put it in a nutshell, you are a mage (Might create more unique of a name later on in development). Mages go around and seal monsters using spell pages (whether it be for combat purposes or for breeding), so when you try and capture a monster either you seal it successfully, or a seal page in your spellbook burns up. For all you imbeciles out there, Spellbook = Pokeballs. There will be a large storyline in the game that we are currently working on. We want a lot of features in this game and hope to be able to supply the features we want to the players. At the moment we have the three starters drawn up and one of the evolutions for each, each one specializing in a specific stat. Dragon = Strength Phoenix = Agility Gargoyle = Magic There are 4 major elements, and each starter can evolve in to whichever element you want them to evolve to giving the player the option to decide which element they want first without having to choose a stupid looking monster. We have tons of features planned and I think I will try to post in this thread updates on the games graphics, since we are so early in development (don't even have a programmer yet (Though we are starting our search at Oregon State University soon)) I can't show anything but graphics and storyline updates at this time. This game will not be made with eclipse, at the moment we are strongly leaning toward it being a browser based game and we hope after we get some programing started we can open up a kickstarter. Kickstarter is a great way for funding and I think this game has the balls to make the goal we set for it.   12. Try and spend a little more time on your videos, plan it out and polish it up a bit. Maybe find someone to help create the videos, and like Jungle said, any sort of backstory other than random images YOU like is better. The video honestly is what made me not wanna listen to the music which becomes a problem, make them coincide with each other and attract both people that learn visually and through hearing. It may not exactly be what you want or like, but if you want more attention I'd go with that.

The lizardman does have quite a few mistakes, the arm is too close to the body for instance and you're right the pauldron is too tight feeling. There is no reference for the self portrait because it was drawn directly from a mirror, the bump is just a little bump in my shirt, shit happens guys, its not a problem with the portrait, it's just what my shirt looked like. I spent 10+ hours on the painting making sure everything was how it should be. The angle of my neck made it look like my adam's apple isn't coming out but if you look at the shading you can still see it, the arm is resting on the table, but the fat I have is hanging down off the table, that's why it looks like the table is cutting into it, try it yourself and you'll see.

I'm terribly sorry for the inconvenience I've caused. Also, saying a "few" mistakes and then only listing one is a little redundant don't you think?
  16. Petes right Crest, learn how to actually paint and draw in photoshop and then you can move on to layer effects once you have a good understanding of it.

  20. Work on poses for poses, but by looking at a naked human figure you'll never see all the muscles available in the human body.

Try and periodically flip the image while you pixel it to see where you've messed up, once you make it look good no matter how it's flipped then you're good. It's easier to see problems like that when you flip it.

Talent only goes so far, talented people just happen to be slightly better when they try graphics then people who are without talent. But then the rest of the progress someone makes in graphics belongs to practice and seeing their flaws and correcting them. Also I've found people with talent and realize it grow an ego, when they become egotistical they start to believe they are better then they truly are and stop learning (look up the artist Rob Liefeld and you'll see what I mean by this). No, this was not a good attempt at graphics, but that does not mean he should stop. It means he should continue to prove you pricks were wrong. Keep going.
