Don't be hating on JavaScript. I absolutely love it, even if it behaves in a manner that makes no sense, relative to other languages. Also, with ES6 standards, it's becoming even more exceptional. We finally get classes! lol. I'm a front end developer, so I use JS almost every day. I'm not fond of coffeescript, though. I'd sooner use Dart than coffeescript. I would also never use Typescript, simply because. lol

I use **JavaScript**/Node for all personal projects. I know and can use, but try (hard) to avoid **PHP**. I can use/manipulate **C#**, but still have soo much to learn. Languages I don't want to learn: **Python**, **C++** Languages I would learn if it made sense to: **Red**, **Scala**, **D** Languages I may still learn in the future, because I want to: **Java**, **Ruby** There are so many tools. As Marsh said, "A real programmer uses whatever language will accomplish the job best"

@Unknown: If you dislike C# and Java, what language do you prefer, out of curiosity? If you say C++, I'll be so confused. It looks so much harder to use, lol
-
I don't need any examples, but I appreciate the fact that you revisited this with more clarity. You're gonna confuse a noob if you just talk about bracket placement, lol
-
> ``` > void doSomething() { > // Java > } > > ``` > ``` > void doSomething() > { > // C# > } > ``` I won't even comment on your "exact same syntax" comment… but I want you to know how derp the above is. You do realize that the placement of curly brackets is ENTIRELY up to personal preference, right? -- rendering your example useless. Not really sure why you thought that was a good representation of the two languages.

> Both are basically the same. C# is a Microsoft's try at Java. That's complete bullshit. You know nothing about C#. Besides Microsoft overseeing the actual development of the language, it really has nothing to do with them, as long as you don't use their libraries (which were ported over into C# AFTER the language was created). If you want an MS-hands-off approach to C#, you can use the mono libs, which then also make your project cross-OS compatible. It has nothing to do with java. You should be ashamed of yourself.

> VB is a good language, it's gone quite a bit further since VB6, that wasn't a great language at all. Just because it sucks less than before doesn't mean that you should use it.
-
You were looking for an alternative to VB6, and still chose a VB? You should have gone with C# at least.

This is the most nonsensical thread that I've seen here in a good while. None of it sounds appealing.

Not going to watch the video for lack of interest, but I will share some wisdom with you. I was making youtube gameplay videos with a friend of mine for a while, and I had a lot of fun doing it, even though I only got a few views per video. However, reality kicks in, and you get busy. Breaking into the youtube public-eye is near impossible these days, if you have other interests. People that do it for a living make youtube their lives. Unless you're prepared to work as hard as them, just keep in mind that you're doing it for fun.

No, we don't want to support clones. Terrible, and shameful.

![](https://hostr.co/file/Sbg9iqBolzTu/tileshelp.png) **1.** The roots, or part of the trunk that is going up, but seems to disappear around the back… not sure where it went. I think you need to have it continue around, and sort of wrap up the trunk. **2.** The top of the cliffs and the base to not match, shape-wise. It somehow splays outwards at the bottom, creating a really weird perspective. **3.** Because of the way your cliffs look (they look fine), it's a bit hard to understand that the ground above them, is actually above the rest of the ground. Try lightening up the ground up there to help signify the height difference.

I'd say neither, unless you credit the authors who painted the background scenes.

How much $$$ are we talking?

How many games are you going to half-make, before you actually stick with something? I'm still waiting on Project Terra, or whatever you changed the name to.

Yeah, don't get me wrong, I really like hookah, but It's just not something I seek out, nor something that I would spend any money on.
-
Both have their own merits, but I'd say either way, get rid of that dreadful black outline around them.

@-Aero-: > You don't have to tell me, I look like a douchebag in that picture. I knew you were a wanker. I hadn't thought it would be this bad, though.
