  1. Johnson got slapped by the white shadow in his profile pic.
  2. Only guild system I know to have been released, as a source code tutorial: Is Scott's. Third page of the Tutorials > Source section.
  3. You have to send a quest variable to the client and have the client run a variable check to determine when it's finished. Basically something like; ``` If Player(MyIndex).Quest(QuestNum).Finished = True Then 'Blt the question mark. Else 'Blt the exclamation mark. End If ```
  4. Most Custom Versons will include their own runtime installs packaged but for those versions that don't. I've uploaded both DX7/DX8 Runtime installations. DX7 runtimes is used for EO 2.0 and EO 2.3 based engines: [https://www.dropbox.com/s/4s6xfy4p89vwxnh/install_first_runtimes.exe?dl=0](https://www.dropbox.com/s/4s6xfy4p89vwxnh/install_first_runtimes.exe?dl=0) DX8 runtime is used for EO 3.0 based engines: [https://www.dropbox.com/s/75zoikzjtf9uy5p/setup.exe?dl=0](https://www.dropbox.com/s/75zoikzjtf9uy5p/setup.exe?dl=0) EO 4.0 already has their own runtime packaged but here's that installation also: [https://www.dropbox.com/s/3wujdcxqm303x8n/Run%20First%21%20%28Runtime%20Files%20-%20If%20Needed%29.exe?dl=0](https://www.dropbox.com/s/3wujdcxqm303x8n/Run%20First%21%20%28Runtime%20Files%20-%20If%20Needed%29.exe?dl=0)

  6. 11/10 I support. :) EDIT: Finish it doe… Where'd all your other projects go?
  7. The shoutbox doesn't necessarily stun growth though, if 50 people were working on game development projects + shouting in the shoutbox These same 50 members would be posting show offs and projects, QA, maybe even in resources and tutorials if they're nice enough. Problem is, not many members whom are active, are doing much development in VB6 anymore. Therefore all of the above threads are basically on a decline. I understand what you're saying, the ad traffic is probably on-load and/or on-click? So yeah, it benefits Eclipse more to post on threads. But on the contrary, I'd still like the ability of a shoutbox, as most social networks have other ways of communicating these days outside of the main idea. I'm just say facebook, **as an off the head dumb excuse for an example**. Facebook has first off a status wall, then the messenger = single, multi private conversation ability. Then it has groups = private, public. It's got alot of different ways to communicate outside of just status walls. Just that the days are different, people aren't doing the eclipse dev as much anymore, just nobody cares like they used to.
  8. Lol you're cray. tbh I can explain the profile picture.. I recorded a video and posted it on youtube, and youtube for some odd reason just decided to pause on this frame, it was a transition clip2clip, faded in. It looked weird and cool so I screenshotted it.
  9. Was bored, made a tiled background for my profile here; Haz fun? [attachment=1420:Flying Demon Sword (Tiled).PNG]
  10. Sad to see you go Murdoc, I always considered you a good artist, and a cool dude personally, I just never really needed the style. :(
  11. Very true Crest, didn't even see the date here lol. And OP has been inactive since July 2013\. I deem this locked guys.
  12. Johnson, don't you spam the forum posts anyway? Lol. As I said in the shoutbox when this debate was actually carried on there. OP has a point, but on the contrary, not having the shoutbox kills the reason why we're even here. The forums are mainly dedicated to game development, (mainly)… So, apart from QA, Off Topic, and some threads... There's no point in being around for those who are currently not doing anything game related. The shoutbox allows fast interaction amongst people who like (or dislike) each other, but the intention is community interactions. The forum does it, to an extent. The shoutbox just seems to fulfill it, even though there's always disagreements and debates.

Robin's zlib, ported by JC. Sorry Sek, please credit them instead of me. Thanks.
  14. Might just hang and watch TV, not much except a ball dropping, whzoozopie!
  15. Amish had already said that Eclipse V was short of funding, one could already assume something from the lack of updates and/or post about it.. It's fine to put high hopes in something but when it doesn't happen, complaining about it shouldn't be the end result, because it's not going to change anything anyway. Find alternative, re-route your planning structure. Unity awaits you!
  16. Marsh can very well tell you he lost more than he gained while having this site; Even with the donations, he was struggling and out his own pocket for the hosting cost every month. Making the site free is fine, fine for who? People who complain, rant and raid all day; Not even wanting to follow simple guidelines? Pushing off new members and not allowing the flow of game making take its course? Downing and discouraging instead of being constructive and encouraging? Selling talents instead of trading talents? Bashing the only engine available (At the moment)? I hate being real but damn guys. Donations and ads alone ain't gonna pay for the spot. As you already said Seth; (This is a hobbyist community) How then can there be commercialization? I dare not say members don't donate, they do & that's great. I wish I could; I would. But is it enough? At the end of the month, is Yuki pulling out his pocket to pay for this **privilege**?
  17. Let the new evolve and the old revolve, this is the way of all communities, please stop killing the ability for new, this is the only way we will progress as a community here.

Of course over the long term of the games life, they ought be able to profit off of cosmetics and donations; Provided the customers preference. The same could be for an engine, but like I said in the underlined quote. As for competitions… I was refering to a competition with other modern day engines, if Eclipse does move towards a modern day language, Eclipse will be competing with like minded engines, obviously not by choice, but for traffic I/O. And your system sounds okay but.... By the time the owner pays all these people to analyze, approve scripts, he'll be negative and in the same boat he's in right now? :P Once the owner gets paid, the staff automatically sees that as they should get paid also, their time spent is just as much (if not more) than the owner, so by rights.... Eh? Lol, I doubt anyone is going to do for free if it hits a big popularity jackpot.

I remember back in the days of EE. we're talking as far as when I first basically started, 7 some odd years ago. The eclipse I knew was the helpful bunch of people I knew, they spent time viewing peoples coding problem posts and trying to fix the bugs for people. Tutorials were even a thing back then, (I
