  1. OO > He's joking. He knew I was joking, you got trolled by the trolling on my trolling.
  2. yes there is copyright problem. also you need to avoid using the following in your game as they have been used in other game 2. health potion 3. health points 4. magic points 5. experience points 6. points 7. swinging sword hurts monstor Im going to be using magic in my game so dont use it in yours or il copyright you
  3. Spending $350+ on a pedometer that would otherwise cost $10 is a mistake. Using the internet on a 1x1 screen isn't practical compared to surfing on the smart phone im assuming you have to sync with the watch. Are you really going to gawk at your watch for 20 seconds while i talk to you? do you think sticking your elbow out in a crowded space so your watch screen is properly viewable is less rude? your reasons for wanting the watch are floppy. Do you really want the watch for its function or do you want the watch so you can be seen wearing it?
  4. > The use of capital letters for languages is orthography, not grammar. Intelligence is the ability to understand your surroundings and modify them at your pleasure, or at least that's the big gap between us and the rest of living species on this planet. I am honestly sorry if I made you feel inferior, it won't happen again. > > > > Thank you. I have the thrill of making a very specific-themed game for a very specific group of people and Eclipse could allow me to do so. I found that every other 2D ORPG engine stopped being developed years ago, so this was my only real chance of fulfilling my personal dream and I'd better do something to contribute and keep this community alive, because if it dies so does my dream. Thanks to my new user perspective I actually could do something, so first day I tried to point out that for the community to keep growing it was neccesary to make it more new user-friendly (for the first two hours I didn't understand a thing) mostly because the website poor layout and content -still says Eclipse Origins is the official engine- plus the virus false positive is something terrible (NEW USER ORIENTED) that needs to be fixed. > Seth didn't really think this was very important so I decided to add a little drama. Maybe if the community pressured him he would get the things done (or request tasks to others since trying to do everything by oneself is a terrible mistake), but since apparently no one but you understood what I was stating about the server.exe I've decided to throw the towel, I can't take this anymore hahaha. > > No matter what happens from now on, please remember I was just trying to make this a better place. I haven't hard feelings for anyone, and I'm so sorry for disturbing Baron Mohenjo inner peace, he seems a very friendly person. see, this is part of why you shouldnt argue in english. i was being sarcastic and making fun of you for what you said. I know you arent superior to me. Id never feel inferior from someone like you. Im not sure if your dramatic thrashing was really a plan to get anyone to realize anything and I dont even think that you're telling the truth. I think this thread didnt go the way you wanted it to go so you backed out and tried to act like you planned it all along. really annoying. this wasnt a game where you couldnt say what you wanted to directly. you could of easily just said that you were focused on the downloadable .exe file and how new users might perceive the virus alert. if seth was going to fix the problem he would of fixed the problem by you just bringing it up. being stupid in one thread doesnt change anything besides how people think of you. you should just admit you were wrong and give up on trying to act like you did it for the greater good. total bullshit.
  5. > I am from Spain. I speak five languages and English is the fifth one I learned, before that I learned Spanish, French, German and Portuguese. I may not be able to speak like a native but my knowledge of English is enough to tell that the names of languages are always written with a capital letter. With your redaction skills and overall intelligence consider yourself lucky if you get a job at McDonalds. > > Now I would argue with you, but fighting with so much advantage doesn't turn me on. oh my bad i didnt realize intelligence was based on grammar. Clearly you're superior. good luck finding the super undetectable virus inside the open source program.
  6. Not even going to hold back. Let's be honest here. A talented programmer able to develop networking code doesn't notice a virus alert of his own program? Obviously he does, and the most important fact: he knows why. yes, programmers who program viruses know they are viruses. If im building a trap and putting it inside of a box I would indeed know about the trap. the chances of me accidentally building a trap while building anything besides a trap would be very very low. none of your statement is sensible, and almost makes me believe you dont understand that a virus doesnt happen accidentally. its not like the programmer is just coding dirty and infects the code with germs that create viruses. a virus is code SPECIFICALLY intended to do something that you dont want. its entirely on purpose. yes. if i make a virus i will know there is a virus. if i make a cake i will know there is a cake. what exactly needed to be clarified with honesty? I found astonishing no one complained about this, so I searched and then I came into a post from October 2014 where another user mentioned that his antivirus didn't go along well with the server.exe, and Seth answered something like "There's no virus. Are you really gonna doubt my word? Trust me." Now the user from India guarantees there's no virus, but, like Seth, he doesn't provide any information related to the issue. If I've learned something in my life is that only a con man would ask you to believe his word without giving proof. They both share the same signature so they obviously work together. life isnt so black and white that if someone doesnt provide proof they're a con man. How exactly did you even expect someone to give proof that their entire code had no viruses in it? did you want him to go line by line and explain the function of each piece of code? for those who dont know how to code he could just lie. for those who do know how to code, THE PROGRAM IS OPEN SOURCE. if you think there is a virus feel free to go look for it. the signature is from a game. Seth runs the game and the other guy plays the game. a lot of people have runescape signatures so clearly they're all in a cult plotting to grow code viruses. Why he hasn't fixed it yet? He's looking for a way to cover up that code and make it 100% undetectable, and until he does that it's better for him not to say a word, keep it low profile because the less people keeping track of it the better. He aims for new users with his businessman mentality so the server will become malware clean eventually. You're using words you dont understand and its painfully obvious. the code he's "covering up" is open source. ALL of the code is there for you to read. there is no way to cover something when you have the entire program given to you uncompiled. 100% undetectable virus is impossible, and even if that was the goal he'd more likely create the super mega virus THEN put it into the open source program that anyone can read and easily find super mega ultimate virus. here is a link for you. [https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=define+malware](https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=define+malware) you are accusing seth, of hiding a virus in a program that anyone can see and keeping it hidden until it stops being a virus but its still a virus thats 100% undetectable. The truth is I already know what is going on (thank you reverse engineering), and I know why he won't ever confess. no. you dont. but if you DO! why dont you explain? are you a con man too? if you dont explain you're a con man. This was his argument in October: **_And the fact that you shouldn't care if the server has a virus or not based upon the findings of AVs. The client is the only thing you should be scanning. There's not going to be a virus in a program I compile that is also open-source._** I will let you guys judge the strength of his argument by asking two questions: 1\. Shouldn't we really care if the server has a virus? 2\. Since when releasing source code changes anything? Even I could shorten/enlarge a random piece of code in SOURCECODE-PUBLIC so I could introduce an *extra* in SOURCECODE-PRIVATE but the size of both packages remains the same even in a byte level after I compile SOURCECODE-PUBLIC and release it for downloading. it seems that english isnt your first language so id really suggest you dont try to argue in english anywhere even if you actually know what you're talking about at the time. open source. the code in its entirety is there for you to read. no clue what you're talking about otherwise.
  7. Find a job. if you dont have a job then your job is finding a job. ALWAYS keep a job. NEVER quit a job until you have another job. until you've worked your first day and you know for sure you're an employee. no job promises or good possibilities has to be absolute. Apply at every store in every strip center you pass every resterant. if your area has industrial work apply there too. even construction work has entry level stuff that you CAN get if you're tenacious enough. get phone numbers everywhere you apply and call every few days. for construction jobs call every day. Try to find a roommate but dont room with someone who smokes pot. pot heads are mostly harmless but pot heads have pill junky friends who have coke head friends who have crack head friends. things can get ugly fast. besides rent your second biggest expense is food and you cant avoid it. dont buy anything but gas from convenience stores. the markup is super high. convenience stores sell convenience which is expensive. dont buy fast food. its over priced and under nourishing. tons of calories but almost nothing else. shop around at different grocery stores for your food. dont just assume one store will be cheapest for any reason. some cheap stuff you can buy that will stretch your food dollar ramen noodles (keep some just as backup dont eat these often) spaghetti Brown rice peanut butter bananas frozen veggys eggs when you go grocery shopping think in healthy meals per dollar. If i buy this and this and this i could make X meals out of it.. so thats X per meal. always keep food in your home. save save save save save SAVE MONEY understand you cant spend money basically at all on fun stuff. money is no longer a toy. Money is a tool. starting out you're probably not going to have very much wiggle room when it comes to bills versus income. put every dollar you can aside and stack up at least a few thousand that you don't touch outside of emergencies. you might lose your job. you might get hurt and be unable to work you might need to help someone else. Network. talk to the people you work with. find out what else they have done for work. be friends with everyone. I agree with yukiros mentality of "what can this person do for me" everyone is a valuable source of information and they're almost always willing to share that information especially if it makes them feel good about them-self in some way. some relationships are built around utility. You can do something for me and i can do something for you so we stay friendly. its pretty normal to be a tool for your tools and you get much more out of people if you're willing to help yourself. oh and dont give any bitches free rides. ass cash or grass.
  8. You would do best to ask this guy [http://s148.photobucket.com/user/enitblud/library/?sort=3&page=1](http://s148.photobucket.com/user/enitblud/library/?sort=3&page=1) hes the owner of those images as far as i know.
  9. > What do you guys think about status points increasing the % of critical hit? As a base stat that you increase as you level +Crit would be interesting since it'd increase your damage but also spread out your dps (3-9 instead of 5-7) since you'd be increasing your chance of hitting higher instead of increasing how hard you hit normally the gains per level would have to be lower than 1% if you're capping at 99 since you'd have the potential of becoming a crit machine at 99 even worse if you can invest more than one point into crit per level. Id have to know more about the others stats and how they would affect damage to be able to say if that'd be reasonable.. but logically id expect that someone who maxed attack would have a higher base attack and smaller attack range while someone who instead maxed crit would have a lower base attack and larger attack range. by that i mean like i said earlier, 5-7 for the attack guy and 3-9 for the crit guy. this before any other stats are added in and only considering attack strength. in a pvp situation id prefer to be the max Crit since my oponent never knows when im going to slam them for a lot of damage suddenly. but with that in mind Id personally prefer to be able to change my attacking style during the fight. for instance by switching weapons. Id start out with something that swings for a larger range and after landing a big hit Id switch to something more consistent to maintain the upper hand. that would mean id need to be able to increase my attack strength and crit chance by changing equipment.. so maybe +crit would be better as a stat applied to your gear instead of your character.
  10. > crest, i understand that, but i dont have an option on the matter. Just do the smart thing and buy a desktop that is easy to carry. a lot of models these days come with handles and velcro straps for mobile desktopping. you could also put your new desktop on a desk with wheels and push your desk wherever you want to go. If you cant do that my second suggestion would be to buy a desktop then buy a laptop as well. Your main focus should be on the desktop though because its upgradable and better for high performance gaming. spend most of your budget on the desktop and whatever is left on the laptop > PC = Personal computer. > > > > A laptop is a PC… derp. A Mac is also a PC but people say mac to differentiate. I could take my laptop off of my lap and put it on a desk and make it a desktop but what makes it a desktop is how people use the word desktop. just labels man.

    > Why is this ^ guy so mad? > > > > He is not trolling, he is kinda right, it does sound pretty "forced" to me. > > If people can't be nice to eachother and help eachother without any kind of reward then that's pretty bad and shows how fake people are, and this thread promotes that kind of mentality. > > > > A dog used to get his treat after every trick, will bite his master's hand sooner or later. Really lame to be referring to someone in the conversation from the 3rd person. recognition for doing what you should do isn't just about the person being recognized. its re-enforcement for the other people involved to understand what kind of behaviors are welcomed and approved of in a given community. its deciding who is the role model for the month. who acted in a way that we should all act? By allowing the community to vote in this monthly contest EO is actually letting the community decide who these role models would be. its brainwashing/conditioning/programming BY the community FOR the community's benefit. the whole reason it even works is because of peoples drive to be recognized and appreciated in fact its taking advantage of it and using that to help mold those fragile people into something more acceptable. there isnt anything fake about that its just how it works. its funny because you use an example about dog training and it is in fact very related. but the same person doesn't get the treat every month. only one person gets the treat and everyone whos interested is doing the tricks. do you know how a bird chooses who gets the food out of all the baby birds? its the loudest one. they all chirp and flap their wings strengthening their muscles and honing their songs. loudest first, then next loudest, and so on. the bird is training the baby birds the same way a recognition contest works. same thing in dog training. you only give the treat to mold the behavior. once the behavior is engrained you don't have to give the treat anymore. research dog training before you use it as an example. congrats on seeing the tip of the iceberg though. maybe you will figure something out if you keep looking.

    > Ego contest. Good way to boost the community. its not a ego contest in the least. that makes zero sense. your ego is your own sense of self-importance. an ego contest would be everyone declaring why they're the best and users voting on the most convincing argument. If if was an ego contest id win hands down, but i think you'd probably be the runner up. i dont think you believe your own bull though. i think you're just trying to knock down something this forum is trying to do to help itself. this is a genuine effort to try to promote good behavior in the community. stop trying to create some kind of rivalry between eclipseorigins and indieRising because there is no competition. there is one forum about mirage based rpg engines, there is another forum about indie game development. apples and oranges man. go troll somewhere else this is just pathetic.
  13. alienware might actually be something to investigate. my ex had one and i cracked it open one time and sheesh. looks like a Ps3 heatsink in there. seriously half of the laptop is heatsink. so i dont think you'd have a heat problem with an alienware.
  14. good to hear you didnt drop the project man keep it up!
