Well renzo you studmuffin you studmuffin, you studmuffin, if you are diving into the AAA industry topics, people from AAA industry have money, technology and marketing. They don't really need to be creative in order to get their product out. "Independent" game has to be creative or it exist not. It's a fact. Stop defending them solely because they have the the holly spark of programming in them, they showed their work to people who know less about this amazing skill and who therefore are not basing their opinions on it. If you post your coding exercise to people who do not code you are going to have a bad time. The people have spoken. It's a minecraftoteraria clone.

What surprises and saddens me at the same time - he didn't look like he was 11 years old. Because you have to be 11 years old to lack any kind of self critique or common sense. 11 or fully retarded… To tell the truth, this both saddens me and gives me enormous amounts of hope. Someone like this, a full blown retard, with a project like that, got nearly 1000$ from 19 backers. This means it becomes unnaturally easy for honest and talented people to actually make something.

ITT: I post my project, you dislike it so I'll say it's not serious and I don't even want your comments in the first place so you can dislike it all you want. Bottom line: You post something in the Show Off section - expect people to comment on it. Reacting to criticism and other people's opinions like you do, makes you look like a pansy.

If you're satisfied with shading and form just drop it into anything else than microsoft paint, and duck with hue and saturation. Easiest way of finding out what color suits you best.

Ladies and gentleman, we have found someone who has the idea what he's doing. Ice Cream Yesterday is just jelly that his method of doing graphics is a fossil and you're actually heading where this whole place should be. Apart from that - it's true, you need to work on his feet… adding ankles would fix the problem I guess. As for the shading, place the light somewhere else than directly above. Also, what program are you using?

Of course I can dis Ambardia. Just as I can dis pretty much anything. It had incredibly gruesome graphics before Ambard actually started making them himself… and even then they weren't exactly fitting.

It's cool as a fun little project, but in a situation where Hero Engine's licence is just 100 bucks a year, it's not an actual alternative to making games.

They work well. Like, exceptionally well - adds the needed depth to what you did there. Personally a fan of those shadows.
