Synergy

Open your .BMP image in _Paint.NET_, _Photoshop_, _GIMP_ or any other "paint" program that can handle transparency and such. Remove the background if there is one. Save As - > .PNG You can only use .PNG in an engine using DX8, and .BMP in the DX7 engines. Please don't be silly. That program is not helpful here because, I imagine, it won't be able to remove the background, so is useless.

There's absolutely no need for the use of MS Powerpoint or Paint. This could all be done similarly in Photoshop or GIMP. The cross-program aspect just makes this needlessly complicated. Also, anyone that needs explaining of how to open a file is probably not ready for this website/the internet. I mean, I did this just now in Photoshop alone:  It took me about 3 minutes. There's simply no need for using Powerpoint and Paint, it's just ridiculous. A nice enough tutorial though, good job. Just needs some more.. Sensibility. 

Run the code through the debugging in the IDE. When it highlights a line, hover your mouse of it and see what it says.

Stuff got broken when the forums got updated. Not sure if the admins can fix links if you report them.

I don't have either of the engines downloaded, so I can't guide you. However, I'm guessing you've missed out a part of the initialisation.

You don't need to put the URL in a "code" tag. On to your problem: I suggest you download the source for CS:DE ([here](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/index.php?/topic/120607-robins-history-bundle/)), and then look at how it's coded. It should be fairly simple to move across to Eclipse Mega.

Try manually registering the DLL. Depending on whether you're on a 64-bit or 32-bit machine, you'll either have to install it in _\SysWOW64\_ or _\System32\._

Um, I don't want to be horrible but I'd be cautious of using that. You're better off downloading and installing the _official_ runtimes: [DX8 Runtimes](http://glaciate.net/downloads/dx8_runtmes.rar)
