  1. Yup, that's what I'm talking about. Looking forward to see this system get improved, this really helps make use of DX8.
  2. As in whoever wants to build their own source for their game. I started working on my engine from the ground up on 3.0 and I'd like to add this onto it.
  3. I mean this system to add as a source tutorial to that person's engine would help, I'd download this but I already have an extensive amount of work done on my source and I'd like to add this in.
  4. This would really benefit from a tutorial to add on to another person's build because I'd benefit from this.

    Tried, no dice.

Getting the 3.0 download link back up would help, I want to take a crack at a engine build myself regardless of entering or not.
  7. Wasn't it Iris who was looking at Python scripting or something for Eclopti? That could be a choice.
  8. I'm curious to how you will accomplish such a task. Personally I would like to see an engine with a streamlined interface, not exactly CS:DE copy but rendered and all that, perhaps with a few major features built in. And Deathbeam's event system was a much better interation of events, I'd recommend it for modification.
  9. 63\. Because we can have edits of edits of edits!
  10. His GUI code is the same idea that CS:DE has, but uses calls and methods already built into EO3.0, you mean.
  11. The way it's working on this engine, yes, only on DX8\. On DD7 tech you would not be able to set the transparency like that.
  12. Your streamlined system works quite well despite obviously being in it's first version, but It might help to write a little explanation of some bells and whistles JCSnider didn't exactly have. Might write something myself seeing as this system should be tried.
  13. When I set custom script and hit edit, it sends me an RTE 13, Type Mismatch on your event system.
  14. So you had to update it as I downloaded .12 xD
  15. Useful indeed. Loving the amount of devotion Advanced is getting with it's progress xD Although I'll definitely have to check this.
  16. Suggestion to Deathbeam; BASS might be a nice addition instead of the fmod system.
  17. The maps should work fine, just don't copy over the event data file for each map. Haven't tried it yet but it should work that way.
  18. DX8 is obviously DX8 regardless of usage, but there are different rendering methods if that's what your asking. DX8 is a library and the code of the maker decides how well it is used, hence CS:DE's problems due to fragile and unstable code methods.
  19. *Clap clap clap* That event system looks great, from someone who has used RPG Maker for a long time that's better than what Enterbrain has pulled out in their work.

    Battle Log!

Of course, I just thinking about how one might go about making this simpler by instead of catching the packet mid-flight to the chatbox directly to the battle log and just specifying where certain messages would draw.

    Battle Log!

From how this system is working it's just moving what it already sends to another window by calling a function to the other window instead of the chatbox. Personally this would be better if it was drawn along the side of the screen like Joyce's Loot sidebar was.

    Battle Log!

Wouldn't this be the equivalent of just redirecting everything Eclipse handles as battle chat to another location instead? It seems like this diverts things that don't need a lot of changing to other places with methods you might not need.
  23. I might retire from this discussion now, I think Marshy Dearest has heard enough or will hear enough to make some choices. I'll only reply very little on this from here on and I hope this dies off quickly and promptly ends up the hall of shame. I'll leave my two cents right here. This happened because because one person get egotistical off of power and their work and the rest are at each other because bad names were tossed around. After reading Aer's last post, were all guilty here and even I think I'm wrong. Sure, it'd be nice to have Eclipse a bit more professionalized and a person with power on Eclipse has a time consuming task but at the same time this shouldn't excuse anyone from being a bit of a jerk. I say we keep our problems reported where they should properly be handled, either in PM to Marshy Dearest or reported with that nifty button, and keep our bum candy tucked and everyone keep it clean from here on. As for higher standards in the site, this is a sensitive thing but it would be a good idea to look them over, you never know. I love you all and I would take up any role needed whether being hated deeply or in power for the community to make sure there is an example of how things are done and I've learned a lot here and my maturity has grown right here ever since I signed up that day in May a few years back. Marshy Dearest has had this community running for six years and if were going to complain let's keep it organized and handle it properly. Peace Eclipse, let's go back to our projects, lives, hobbies and passions as developers, artists, composers or whatever you are.
  24. > I do not see how a dev-blog will be of much help.. The only post in it from me would be, 3.1 coming soon once I get everything situated. Simply because that is how I am, I don't keep very organized or anything like that nor am I paid my awesome eclipse wage to do so…. Most dev blogs don't have constant updates anyway, but at least Jeff and you posting a few things every so often would do the people who are impatient the favor or knowing what they are waiting for. Regardless I'm not saying I'm impatient because I trust development takes time and my projects take time too.
