Eclipsier's Kickstarter: The Ancients

This is just a short piece to let all of those Ancients fans out there know that The Ancients is now on Kickstarter, if any of you want to put toward or spread the word. It's also a shameless bit of advertising and social networking to find new interest <3.

We've got 30 days to raise £40,000.

The £40,000 will go directly toward paying a semi-professional programmer for a year to work on The Ancients.

The Ancients (aka, Project Terra/Earth) that some of you knew is somewhat different from it's first ideal that many of you may know it by, so I suggest you give it a read before pledging, just in case it's no longer the game for you!

Nethertheless, all pledges are very welcome and even if you don't fancy to pledge, Antiquity Games would appreciate any social networkings and shares of the Kickstarter page that you can offer!

Oh look a vets only topic.

Anyway, you're making a 2D sandbox simulation game, £40,000 seems ridiculous for what looks to be a fairly small project. I really doubt an indie programmer is going to charge for that much to make that game.

This game looks really solid, I can see you've thought about everything and I love the mechanics, although I'm a bit worried about some things:

- $40.000 is alot, at the moment there is 1 backer who pledged 5 dollar, and I'm wondering if you really need that much to pay a programmer for one year. Isn't it a better idea to first find someone who is willing to programm and lives close to you, and then discuss how much he wants for a year and then try to get that goal on Kickstarter?

- So many features, thats not a bad thing, but it increases the chance that the end-product will have bugs or that you'll have to remove features, as you 'only' have one year.

That was all I could find, and I'm not hating or anything, because this is defenitely one of the most promissing projects I've seen on Kickstarter. ![;)](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png)

Completely agree. 40,000 is a lot, but project is awesome. ![:D](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.png)
