> Think the contest is fine, But a clearer definition of from scratch would be nice. I really doubt anyone here is going to make it from scratch. Everyone is going to use a engine or library of some sort.

I made mine all from 0 , made only one Module to control them all (LeModule _) made everything using the possibilities of vb6 (progress bars, buttons, etc) and I think it came out great for a 1 day project. Just gonna have some friends testing it out to find any possible bugs and then I'll post it.

[EDIT]

Even the game has the 'Le' XD_

Well, tbh theres only so much you can mark down as "copying" when we are all making virtually the same program. No one is going to see your actual code which is what will be the thing getting voted and judged so all they can copy is the visual aspect with will be obvious and is only a very small part of the judging….

Was just about to start writing something up and went to grab my map code, then realized this might be kind of cheating.

What about premade code? Or should it all be done from scratch. It seems odd rewriting the same thing but i would get it.

From scratch means no copy/pasting; this also implies that derivatives of non-original work aren't acceptable. Now, I and others know for a fact that there are only so many ways you can do something, so things like creating a class that holds map coordinates, name, and other properties is going to look just about the same as everyone else's.

I think the main thing that this applies to is using large chunks of logic that were made for something else. Personally, I'd write it completely from scratch without the use of any aides, tutorials, or previous sources authored by me or others. It'd be 100% original, and it'd be a test for me and fun at the same time.

> Well, as long as its your own coding, it shouldn't matter. I took the "from scratch" part more of not using pre-made systems/engines and things created by others.

Yeah, I mean it's obviously subjective; just saying how I would have went about it.

You forgot the source, guy. We aren't judging it based on what you've pre-compiled. We go through the source, compile, then judge. That being said, this requires a repost before it's accepted.

PS:

1- I bet most of you will use the source to see the cheatcodes, but no problem XDD

2- Thanks Aàron ![:)](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png)
