Guest
I just put my basic knowledge in custom menu-ing to use… it's amazing what a bunch of elementary features can do when combined together. :OIt's not much, but I think it would make a nice introduction to the game.I like custom menus. :cool:Hopefully, with my new game, I'll be able to make a user-friendly interface... well, wish me luck in the future.![](http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/5558/31632833jt6.jpg)For clarification: This will be the first quest in the game, the Tutorial quest.![](http://img241.imageshack.us/img241/3765/92692255ke5.jpg)(Support, criticism, advice, and help are all welcome.) shrig94
Tutorial Isle..I saw that in a game with the initials RS….
Guest
The name Tutorial Isle isn't permanent, I'm probably going to change it, you know.
mrmiguu
Im not too crazy about thoes clouds, they don't seem to blend very well. I think you can make the Custom Menus a bit nicer lookin', don't you think? (add borders?, spice e'm up).Not bad, as of getting back on your feet towards the new game. Good luck! Bobbus
If those are clouds, i dont think thats a great idea to have. They look wayyy too low.And yeah i agree with Miguu, add something to the menu's.
Anna Comnena
I know what's wrong with those clouds - no shadows on the ground to give a sense of height/depth.
shrig94
I would get rid of the clouds…
shrig94
bumpthey have shadows…the grass looks darker...seee
Anna Comnena
Use the modify button; warned for double posting. Also the grass coloring isn't consistant with the cloud placement so I wouldn't argue they were shadows.
renzo
those clouds are really low though, probably would be better to just get rid of themactually they would probably be a good idea to use in the mountain maps to show that they are really high up
Bobbus
Eh, even if they did have clouds, the engines camera (using RMXP tiles/sprites) gives the appearance that its only about 50 feet off of the ground, looking down at your character at an angle. If that makes any sense. (sorry about the long sentence)Since the camera seems only 50 feet away from your character, the clouds shouldnt even be in the view.My opinion, though, do what you like. shrig94
Thats what I said…the clouds should be removed, they look like they'll crash into the mountains....Off-topic: Warned for Double Posting! Come on! I just got rid of the little green check (ty renzo) and I get it again!
renzo
haha, i guess thats just how things go, got keep aware of what your doing to prevent those sort of thingsbut with an avy like that, probably best we let the people know your weirdbut like i was saying about the clouds, it would probably be a good idea to use them on the high peaks of mountain maps to give the sense of being really high up
shrig94
The clouds are really being abused…an Isle is at sea level, you usually don't see clouds at sea level...you could use them for fog.
DrNova
I think they are a nice touch
shrig94
if you use the clouds don't put the shadow too close, the farther away a shadow is, the higher it looks.
Guest
This is supposed to be discussion about my features, not the map. If you're going to talk about that, do it [here](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/smf/index.php/topic,29414.0.html).
Elder-Bunny
Yo, Haleblazr, If you hand me your clouds I can make em transparent for you so they look more realistic.
Guest
@Elder-Bunny:> Yo, Haleblazr, If you hand me your clouds I can make em transparent for you so they look more realistic. That'd be nice; I'm pretty sure I already know how, though. Just add a checkerboard pattern on them, alternating the cloud color and the background color. You could do it, if you want.http://files.filefront.com/Plains+Tiles/;11151166;/fileinfo.html

Guest
I was just taking a guess, because that's what I would think. Really, though, would be nice if someone did it for me, namely because it's tedious. You don't have to… but since you're the uber GFX person (say, where'd Frog go?), you can if you want. mrmiguu
Im just taking a guess that HailBlazr is in Geometry 2nd Semester… lolYou should honestly choose other GFX to use for your game rather than boring RMXP, it's so overused, it's not even funny anymore (I don't think it ever was, lol). Try finding sum1 to make you custom GFX or try at making your own, you never know, you might even surprise yourself?!Sincerely MrMiguu
shrig94
Use the GFX Mr.Miguu used for his game…jk, I remember when Mr.Miguu was paranoid because he thought the graphics would get overused if he posted them here.
