  1. Hey guys, Two friends of mine and I are leaving our colleges to work on a startup that was selected for the Brandery incubator ([brandery.org](http://brandery.org)). We're looking for some webdev interns to help us out! (and you'll get to participate in Brandery events, including the lectures and special dinners, a chunk of change, possibly a bigger chunk of change, and even some equity!) If you're unable to relocate for the summer, we can talk about doing work remotely if you're exceptional, but we prefer to have our engineers in-house. Check out the posts below and email me, shrig94 (AT) gmail (DOT) com, with a resume and portfolio to apply: [http://startuply.com/Jobs/Intern_Backend_Developer_for_FlightCar_7066_2.aspx](http://startuply.com/Jobs/Intern_Backend_Developer_for_FlightCar_7066_2.aspx) [http://startuply.com/Jobs/Intern_Frontend_Developer_for_FlightCar_7066_1.aspx](http://startuply.com/Jobs/Intern_Frontend_Developer_for_FlightCar_7066_1.aspx) We like people who write pretty code, make pretty layouts, and work really hard.
  2. I decided that I'd post here to get a reasonable price, as this is a job for a non-profit and Big Corporate companies don't seem to care. Here is a short description of the job: A complete redesign of www.onlinemathcircle.com. The wiki should be preserved. A new centralized home page that provides access to a lecture database (consisting of pdf lectures and zip source files), videos (from youtube), and news that all run on jquery, so all three things can be accessed without refreshes. 2 other pages of the site–a new forum based on phpbb, and the aforementioned wiki. The CMS should be easy to use, so that lectures and videos can be easily added in a minutes time (currently using wordpress). Email me if you're interested, shrig94 (at) gmail Name your price.

    College!

Haha, so basically I got in because of my success in math/science competitions. Anyways, I'm going for EECS and Math. And it's really important to go to school if you're studying math or electronics, CS is a different story. Also, MIT isn't a state school–it's definitely private. I didn't get a GED or high school diploma, but those things don't matter with a lot of the big and popular schools as they don't mean anything for private institutes and big government institutes can make exceptions. (I was accepted into UC Berkeley/Georgia Tech and Dartmouth) I was just bored of not having the resources to learn much more at high school. And I knew if I studied anything now, I'd just have to restudy it in college (I'm not getting any credit for the linear algebra or physics or PHP or C++ classes I took in the college in town). So, it made sense to try and go to college early.

    College!

Man, I'm so off and on in this forum, but I thought I'd do a neat update. First off, I decided to drop out of high school this year. I was bored, last semester I attended a local university, and next semester I will be going to MIT, which should hopefully be considerably more entertaining. I'm also teaching at a reputable math camp, which is interesting. I'm releasing a beta version of my start up shortly, and I might ask some of you all to test it. Anyone else going on to college? How has everyone else been doing?

    College!

There are certain Ivy Leagues and big names that aren't overrated. These are Harvard, Princeton, MIT, Stanford, Caltech, etc. Schools like Columbia and Brown are highly overrated on the other hand.
  6. Haha, no reqs, just a team for fun. Playing with people you're used to is what its about. We'll automatically do better since we're united and have tactics. Skype me.

    College!

Where does everyone attend or plan to attend University? I'm hopeful for MIT/Stanford/Caltech at the current moment. But I'll still apply to Harvard/Princeton/Yale, as well as the foreign Oxford/Cambridge. UT and Rice are my back up plans. At UT I'll only have college for 2.5 yrs, 2 if I do the summer classes and my first year will be free, plus whatever scholarship money I get (probably around 10-20k) will come back to me.

  9. Hey add me on skype (shrig94) if you play COD MW2 for the PC. I'll be online in a second. I'm interested in creating a team that way we have more tactical game play instead of getting stuck with random people and ending up playing a party that bends us back 90 degrees. So, if we get a group of about 10 of us then we could always have a few of us ready to play with some tactics, etc.
  10. And I visit Eclipse once in a while and see things like this and ask myself "why don't I come more often?" Anyways, you're the world's fastest typer? That's pretty bad ass dude.
  11. @Anna: > I like the thick outlines of the first one, but in general I like the shading on the second one better. Agreed. Thicker lines create boldness but just because lines are thick does not mean shading should be lost. Excellent job on the work and I wish you good luck with all future pieces and the modifications taking place on this one.
