What exactly is required to run smoothly?

Greetings EO Community,

My name is Kyrie and I was here back in the 2.x days when it was ran by Robin.

I've mucked about the program and I notice it doesn't require much resources. I currently represent a company that'll be looking into hosting these servers very inexpensivly, and some sponsorship.

I need to know what ports it needs to listen on, and what type of processor/ram etc it needs to run at the maximum efficency.

port is changeable via the Options.ini in the data folder, just change "Port= ####" to any port you wish, as long as it is an open port it will work. (as you would know if you have been here for years :P)

Im unsure of the minimum requirements to run the latest EO, as i'm only interested in open source so maybe an admin could answer that one for you.

From the looks of it, not much.

I'd love an answer from a developer's standpoint though.

A gold server runs at about 500-600mb of ram usage and it really does not require much processing power at all but I don't have exact numbers off the top of my head.
