Welcome to the Eclipse Galaxy discussion board. I'm only reviving this because Anna acknowledged and moved it to the Your Edit board. The name will remain the same but the Project will be restarted. Under this brief explanation is a quote of the previous topic's contents. Anything within it can be debugged and re-added. This is not going to be a feature-packed laggy as shit edit. I debug all codes. This project is completely open source and completely free. (Duh) I know, the 2.0.3 link is broken and the 1.0 version sucks. But oh well. I'm restarting anyway. I do like to receive help, but it's not required and this project will not be dropped again. This is mainly for people who don't know how to code or can't edit the source. So each release will contain a source EG, and a Compiled EG.

So far, I've implemented Player Profiles, Directional Blocking, Click to Move, Click to move option, Help Button, Trade Request Window. I'm currently working on A menu that appears when players are right-clicked, and soon after I'll begin working on a GUI, but since my graphics supplies are limited, I need one of you to customize an in game GUI, I'll fit and move the buttons to match. There are no screen shots yet but I suppose there will be. Also I'm going to begin working on a better Character Customization, as requested by Joe, and I decided to call it Project Custom1\.

Squiddle already put in a system to make a players profile appear when you click on them, it's pretty neat actually.

Ok, get ready for my request:

* Turn-based battle system, with:
* Customizable backgrounds that are specific to a maps properties
* Attack animations
* Selection in enemies properties, whether or not it enters turn-based battle
* Menu layout:
* Attack: select enemy: normal attack
* Spell: Select spell: select enemy: use spell
* Defend: use defense power/ do nothing that turn
* Pet system
* Max NPCs, set to 50

Thanks for the char maker system improvement

-Multi-Tile Selector, like you select multiple tiles and you put em in,
like you select a whole tree and put it in.

-A converter from eclipse to eclipse galaxy

-Built in pet system

-Built in House system where you have an area on a map instead of a whole map

-Musical Instrument system

-Speech Bubbles

-An extra download for like a web-browser embedding package that will put Galaxy into browser efficiently

-Good party system with party chat popout window (like EE private chat)

-An auto-link option on the server console which means in map properties when you say map 2 on the left side for example, map 2 on the right side will go back to the map that send the guy there

-An option for the map crossovers in map properties to go to a certain coordinate on that map (e.g. a door goes to a store, if you go backwards all the way in the store you will be lead to a certain point) like adding a door attribute along the whole side of the map

I will add more here as i think of them

That basically means convert to RPGXP and add a pet/profile/mmorpg system. Lol, and I don't like that profile system so I use MrMiguu's with slight modifcation :P

You can select multiple tiles already!
Just hold shift and slide you mouse across the tiles!

Multi-Tile Selector is done.
Musical Instruments won't take too long other than finding the notes.
Party is going to be fun to fuck up. xD
Pet System is going to be the last thing I work on
and you need to explain the housing system more.

- Dynamically sized sprites.
- NPC vs NPC
- Convert to DirectX8 ;D

**Optimizations**
- Optimize the current surfaces to only load those needed.
- Make sure to use BltToDC, not BitBlt.
- Split all items, sprites and spells into their own images, allowing you to use proper memory management.
- Only allow one tileset per map, so you don't have all the tilesets in memory at once.
- Recode scrolling maps to only draw the tiles in the viewport, not the whole thing.

The one-tileset thing is horrible, hated it with RPGXP
NPC vs NPC will be added, dynamic sprite sizes will be added, modified scrolling maps to do that before, lagged the map because of everyone loading a different area.

So you're going to keep it loading all the tilesets, wasting about 200mb of memory?

I said draw. No need to load different areas of the map, just only draw the tiles if they are on screen, else ignore it. Massive FPS boost.

Thats why I'm working on Encryption, to save client space and a hardcoded encryption to make the client run faster. Trying to optimize the client to make it process everything at least 12% faster for windows and linux users, and its morning, sorry if I'm grumpy.

The housing system i was talking about was like you would have a "House" tile and when clicked on in the attributes menu it would ask for which house, then you specify (e.g. /mapeditor=>attributes=>house tile=>"Specify house" Example Name is entered into box

What exactly do you suggest? You need to know the coords for the warp to take you too so it may be annoying but it's not exactly supposed to be the most exciting part of your day. So suggestion would be helpful.

That's why I do that _after_ I'm done mapping an area. xD
