The New World
Welcome to my first tutorial on how to _port forward_ your Router[note: this guide expects you to have a static IP]First off you must figure out what your kind of router you have, AT&T,Link-sys, etc. Then find your router MODEL ID.For Example.![](http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/files/imagehost/pics/da68be6a26929ee9a35c703b7f69d5b1.png)Go to portforward.com and find..![](http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/files/imagehost/pics/c914ad022056cd9a9f5bf43c4a1b9e2c.png)Go to Portforward.com and click Eclipse :D![](http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/files/imagehost/pics/035e1fa71397ebf4dfe4b8f1b928da0e.png)The next thing it'll tell you to do is this..[note: these are just the steps for a linksys, if you understand this, other routers are basically the same, just different directories.]![](http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/files/imagehost/pics/705d7ecafd0fa153be51dba6216ae7a7.png)Now you'll want to find the security settings and allow others to connect to your router..![](http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/files/imagehost/pics/bd6f952d46b1e26278d4950c4fa18a3c.png)Now find the applications and gaming tab to forward your port!![](http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/files/imagehost/pics/fe30cd387fc84e345af835db5a3c2ccc.png)Just change any blank line to look like this, and no the name is not important. Make it anything just keep one number at the end (1) and change 4000 to whatever port you're running your game on. Run it on both UDP and TCP.![](http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/files/imagehost/pics/60ee063de69f1ef30c927e8670b85f58.png)Note: The IP Address part, to find it out just go to start > run > cmd > in the prompt type "ipconfig" without the quotations, and it will say something like "I Pv4 Address . . . . . . . . . . . : (IP ADDRESS)" The last number is how to fill in the section on your router. Also, the number is different for every computer connected to that router.
Godlord
Yet another port forwarding tutorial :icon_nif:. You know why I don't really write these or want to write these? Routers and port forwarding isn't universal, there's no actual de facto standard so it's pretty much worthless to write a tutorial on it unless you've designed the actual router or unless you're hosting a site specifically for port forwarding.Regards, Godlord. The New World
Well just today I've been asked how to port-forward 7 times. So this is a new one. I didn't want to write it but nor did I want to keep sending people to port-forward.com just so they could ask me more Ducking questions x.x

Guess some passwords to try to get in likeusername:adminpass:adminusername:adminpass:username:pass:adminusername:adminpass:1234username:adminpass:12345Then post screens of your setup. Alot of the time it will be easy to figure out.
chainreaction
I have someone that needs access to my game. This is something that he should know a little more about this since he works for Hewlett Packard, but for some reason he just can't get passed it.I sent him both of the Direct X files (7 and 8). Obviously, he's on Vista or I wouldn't be posting this here. The problem is, it isn't allowing him to access the server, and is coming up with 100+ errors.Help?
