Lam3r
That web game builder's not gonna work. It will technically run but will use massive amounts of bandwidth and lag like hell. Wait for SolarEclipse 1.0 which is being made in Java so it can run perfectly fine in a browser. And a word of advice, don't try and remake runescape. craze
I'm not going to lool just used it as a example. So solar eclipse will be perfect?
Lam3r
Um..idk about perfect but it will be able to integrate into a browser fine, since it's Java, not VB6.

Zyvo
No one has any Idea when SE is supposed to come out, and we have been asked by the Admins (Nicely) to stop asking and harassing about the Date it's to come out.As for Craze:I agree with Lam3rSE I believe is the only Eclipse server that will be able to run on a browser. However as you've probably noticed, Waiting for SE is not tipically a good Idea, since production on the thing was first posted to be worked on by ZettaMonkey about a year ago. However Java is a sort of Difficult programing code to work with. (I only could ever make a calculator with Java, I know how hard it is.)So If I would have to estimate on it's date, I'd say give him another 2 years, seeing as how much I see him on eclipse, Plus everyone has a life outside of eclipse.WarningIf your serious about waiting expect to be for about 2-3 years. Drummerpete
As they said, the only realistic way of a browser-based MORPG with Eclipse is through Java & Solar Eclipse. As to whoever said Java is hard to learn, that's not the case.If you try to learn a language, how easy it is depends on how much work you put in.If you are determined to make a decent game, even as a hobby, you will need to put in a lot of time in effort learning to edit the engine otherwise you are VERY restricted. If you don't put effort in you won't get anything out. Lam3r
Regardless of how hard Java is to learn or not, making an entire 3D MMORPG game engine mostly by yourself is extremely difficult. Even if he can base the logic of his code on the current Eclipse, he's still gotta add a Z axis as well. There will also be tons more features in SE, but like Zyvo said, I would expect to wait at least another year.

Admiral Refuge
As far as waiting for Solar Eclipse goes…Just make your game in Eclipse Stable; you will be able to convert everything over to SE when it finally comes out.As for running your game on a browser, Eclipse is more like World of Warcraft than Runescape; the client is monolithic in nature (which means that everything that "may" be needed is included, regardless if it will be used) so it's best for the user to download it.
