Drummerpete
The tile is too obvious.Apart from that, it's good.
Dark Crusade
it's just one spray-painted tile… I expected more when I saw the topic name. Not sure what to really say about it. It doesn't really look much like grass, the palette is a bit ecky, and the spray-effect is too random.
Skillzalot
Updated the topic with my reworked grass tile
Lukin
Still a visible pattern, looks better though.
Jeff
I think you should make a better transition… and the grass just needs a little bit more work i think... just | | that much
Skillzalot
Thanks for all the support guys but keep it coming. I posted my most up to date screen shot
Lukin
The tree stumps looks like cylinders with randomly darker colours sprayed all over, you could look at other tile-sets and their trees, or just normal pictures of trees. The tree doesn't just have a big pole sticking up with leaves on them, they got roots all over the place! :OStones looks a bit flat, the 2 stones attached to eachother needs an outline between them too.Grass tile still a bit repetitive, but it's improving. Visible pattern on the dirt too.
gaming ace
Not too bad, props for making all your own graphics! The grass and dirt are pretty decent, your rocks are also nicely done
Anna Comnena
The roots on the tree trucks need to spread outward. Also I should suggest for the trunks and rocks, have it so they are not fully outlined where they meet with the ground. So the "underside" of the rocks and trunk, make that a lighter color than the outline.
Skillzalot
Thanks everybody for the comments. It is helping me a lot with my pixelling skills. I think i have finally reworked the bark of the tree but i think it could still be better. For the way i did the trees i used ![](http://www.rpg-palace.com/inquisitor/GypsyUpload.png) for a reference hence the reason why no roots. So here is the newest version ![](http://img256.imageshack.us/img256/9601/testea.png)
Drummerpete
The dirt looks like brown grass.Needs more of a dirt pattern.

Dark Crusade
@Lollicat:> That water fails.Be constructive. Why is it bad? What could you suggest to make it better? Etc.
lollicat
It looks absolutely awful because it doesn't look like water. The waterfall has no dimensions, and the water itself just looks like a blue piece of paper with yarn strewn across it.
Lukin
What? There is a waterfall? o-oOh well, I agree with Lollicat, the water is quite terrible. The main reason would be it's pattern, which is drawn out as random lines (at least they go together, but yeah..)I would suggest looking at other tilesets and how their water looks, then try to make some water that has a bit smaller pattern.Oh, and where is your lightsource? Since I just noticed the stones looks a bit different to eachother.
Anna Comnena
The water is a little overdone but the process is sound. Don't make the wave/foam lines so obvious and contrasting though, and you should have less of them.
viciousdead
Water needs more work, and the brown mud/dirt stuff looks like brown grass. The grass, rock, and the wood thing is really good though!
