Shoryuken
Use whitish blue ripples around the bottom of the ship.
Lukin
Yeah, what he said, don't have it a perfectly straight line where it hits the water.
Guest
line art looks good! The only thing I would suggest is to redo the shading so the boat looks like it has layers, and add texture to the wood.Good job overall tho.
Draken
I would use a light blue around the boat just some randomly lines to make it apear its in the water, kinda like little swirls. And for the back of the boat do the same thing but change the bottom part that would be under water to a darker blue this way it appears under the water
Grizzy
Draken and Samurai I just read your guys so I'm prob about to do a lot of what you both said. Regardless here is my update of what I've got so far today… & Draken I really like the dark blue idea, I didn't even think of that lol :P 7 @ Samurai the texture of the kind of "plank" like wood I want is giving me some trouble lol.![](http://imageshack.us/m/222/906/map18.png)
Greendude120
The wheel typically is at the back of the boat not at the front.
Grizzy
@Greendude120:> The wheel typically is at the back of the boat not at the front.oh shit haha good call good call.. everyone ignore that wheel :P
Guest
@Greendude120:> The wheel typically is at the back of the boat not at the front.yeah, I would suggest making another raised area in the rear not only to put the wheel, but also to help with your "levels" appearance. As for a wood effect, you really do not have to do straight lines all the way across. Also, to match the appearance of your cartoonish GFX, you can do your wood texture as so…http://tinyurl.com/3rkyax9don't mind the face XD, I typed in cartoon wood (luckily that's what came up :P)third, I would do what you did with stairs 2-4 throughout the whole set of stairs. If you wanted, you can darken the shading, but that is typically how you shade stairs with 2 tones. (maybe add a third tone on the edge separating the light and dark to represent the edge where the most light would hit the stair).Lastly, I would work on the edge (borders) of the ship to make the ship appear as if it has two levels. Right now, the edges all meet perfectly, so it kinda looks off. (unless you intend to add a railing of some sort on top of what you have right now.)I quickly took what you have and added some things. amazing what a few extra lines can do haha. If I were you, I would just clean things up a bit.![](http://i51.tinypic.com/jh4xnt.png)

I'm trying to make a whole little mini port town so pretty much I'm outlining everything then going from there. Thanks for the awesome advice tho. I'm gonna post in an hour or two my new update :Dalso EDIT this is the house and boat I've got so far. :P![](http://imageshack.us/m/852/4686/boatndock.png)

schnurman
god the sand and the water dont go through at all, make them fade into eachother. Also the pole on the boat looks flat at the beginning and magically not at the top.
Grizzy
@Schnurman:> god the sand and the water dont go through at all, make them fade into eachother.I know how to do this, of all people you should know that. They were made for a better feel. And thats not what this topic is about. I don't need sand advice. :P
