  1. You should probably go post a WIP and then link the WIP here. This post is just too empty to be convincing. You have no storyline, no elaborated plans about systems, classes or anything else. More info means more people interested.
  2. No project info No details on payment amount or method Your paying for gold engine* the hosting is not included (just making it clear) Once you fix up your post you may start generating interest. I wish you gl on your project!
  3. Your running the server.exe you have the ultimate power over any user. Turn off your server, change the port from say 4000 to 4001 and turn it back on. Log into the server and give yourself admin on a new account. Start rebuilding and when your ready, delete the account folder and change the port back to 4000 and run your server. Good luck.
  4. I think what also could of happened is when you gave your players the client, you forgot to erase your password from the config.ini file. So your password and username may have already been saved for them. This happens very often with new players. Also if you have features like a Create Guild or Friend List, it is easy in EO to close programming lines and insert your own. For example if you used a friendlist from source and the code works in such a way that the textbox to add a friend is in this piece of code: Call AddFriend(txtbox) they can type this in the text box: blahblah) Call GiveAdmin(index, 5) or w/e (just an example the code here makes no sense I know) They can basicly close the line and add "blahblah" but then also have the program run the code behind that line. Of course it is easy to edit your source to protect yourself from such events. Making backup once a day is also a good idea.
  5. Bump - New Wip posted & looking for new applicants (see edited topic for positions)
  6. > what do you mean by post examples talking to OP. you (artix) need to leave this thread and go fix your website or something and get some work done on other stuff before you can show your projects to mappers.
  7. I have a very serious project and I know for a fact that I would never hire you if you didn't post any examples. It shows me that your lazy and that your afraid to show your work ahead of time because you may be commented on and not succesfully join a project. You should prove me wrong and post examples.
  8. > Considering you have an aversion to properly spelling "I'll", I'm 99.9% certain that I can speak for him and tell you that you're not serious enough. This is true. Also you want to join a project that is serious and worth your time but you are not serious enough about your job as a mapper to download a fresh eclipse and start mapping different examples? If you don't post any examples here all you will get is people like artix who's project is not as serious as your looking for (judging by the website).
  9. Since I have done this for my game on Facebook, I feel like I probably have the most experience to answer your question. I've looked into this issue and explored all possiblities. If you do not wish to restart your project entirely, you have the following options: -Get a java launcher app that can be embbed into a webpage and where it will download your game files into a \AppData\Roaming folder. Btw all java games are downloaded into those folders and ran. So for those saying that this will only download your game through java rather than the browser, than ya thats just like every other java app. -Active X control. As mentioned above, it is possible. I've had a difficult time trying to make one and I do believe only IE users will be able to use it. -Web Game Builder. This is a java launcher but it is made easy. > Don't use this. > > It downloads the client every time. Very bad on the bandwidth. Don't listen to this. This is completely untrue. How java app games like Runescape or puzzle pirates, etc work and how Exe games work when built into a java launcher is they download your game fully on the first play, but afterwards they check for an update in the server before redownloading. Think of your launcher as a patcher and installer all in one. Advantages of doing this: -Can be embbed in sites like Facebook where it is easier to get players for your game. -Will update automaticly and keep your game clean of installers and extra programs. -To make a patch, just upload your files to the web server and replace old files and add new files. -Hides your files so the average users won't find it. Disadvantages of doing this: -First load can be very slow depending on game size -Files need direct links so they need to be uploaded on your webhost which may take all your bandwidth -Requires money for WGB or knowledge of java to make your own. Recommendation: -Allow users to choose to download an installer and do it the old fashion way. Some people want to double click their desktop icon rather than find the web page. Good luck!
  10. > because if you actually thought about it, a console is made for games not running 3 OSs at once and not being used as a tv box. We already have thw Wii/WiiU for the tv, OSs, we have tablets, phones and pcs for that. Tv, *sigh* that one is self explanatory. Your the one who's deciding a console is made for games. An ipod was made for music and look at it now. A cellphone was made for calls and look at it now. A PC was made for writing documents on disks and look at it now. The Xbox One, look at it now.
  11. What's funny is that PCs are more popular than consoles but when you stop and think of what PC does, it makes this entire thread ironic. Your PC can play games, but what else can it do? -Let's you watch shows and movies -Let's you use social networks -Let's you share conversations and photos with your friends -Voice recognition -Everything about YOU. So now Xbox One comes along and says that this console is more than just games and its centered on YOU and what happens? Everyone screams "omg we dont want TV we want games ARGH ARGH" If PC is number one and it does all of the above, why wouldnt a console company who wants to be number one include these features?
  12. There are lots of angry ps3 fanboys in this thread ![](http://v.aimg.us/system/assets/apps/android/001/776/031/icons/fourtyfive.png) #somad #qq #TVhate
  13. If you and your brother played from the same router, than you basicly played via lan. That's when your computers both connect to each other via your router but never use the internet. In order to let people from the internet connect, you will need to port forward your router or use hamachi. Port Forward [http://portforward.com/](http://portforward.com/) or Hamachi: [http://www.filehippo…d_hamachi/2114/](http://www.filehippo.com/download_hamachi/2114/) (note that hamachi requires both you and the players to have hamachi installed aswell)
  14. > Brb, stocking up on the alcohol for whatever is decided in this thread. Don't spend too much cause no one is doing anything in here. This thread comes up once a year and then dies.
  15. > I'll be providing shared vps hosting for your project! > > Price will be $3 per month with your first month free! > > Send me a pm with a link to your project! Act fast as slots are limited! This is missing quite a bit of info. Where is the server located? What are your speeds for dl/ul? What is the RAM and how many "slots" are you allowing on this vps? What payment method will you use? Can users manage their game file through ftp or a dashboard to reboot servers, etc? This will help answer questions and make your post more credible.
