Magdreamer
I like the idea, I hope you find a good pixel artist. You'll need a really good, matching art style to pull off a zombie survival game.
Sealbreaker
doesnt look too bad for a start :) what libraries do you use?and 1Â thing: gui should probably drawn above everything else (trees are over the hp-bar in the video). I'd recommend rendering everything from the gui on a seperate image and render this gui-image on the buffer-image (you use double-buffering right???) at last.good luck, i'm pretty interested in this :)-seal
Smallbro
At the moment I'm not using any libraries. Also I didn't even notice that the HP bar was rendered behind the trees until you pointed it out. I'll fix that right away. Thanks :D
Sealbreaker
> I'm not using any librariesthat's not true (100% sure). But i guess what you mean is that you use java's native libraries (java2d, swing, java.util etc.) If you need any help, you can pm me I'm using java for some time now by myself….-seal
Smallbro
I didn't really ever think of those as libraries until now. I always saw it as things such as Slick2D and LWJGL xDIt's just the native ones then :)
Smallbro
Necroposting doesn't count here does it? I keep forgetting to update this post.I found a pixel artist, she's pretty new to it (not art in general) and I also found a musician. They both take constructive criticism well and I'm sure they'd appreciate any that you have. Here is the latest gameplay video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6zLd0oCGQs8Â (a few months old now though)Here is a music update video which showcases the music in its current state.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=az2XHNyNN2c&feature=relmfuHere is an image of the foundations of multiplayer, which is a feature I've been working on the past week or so. http://i.imgur.com/xlCZH.pngHere is an image of some of the water tiles (which definitely need work)http://i.imgur.com/AtuHO.pngWe also have a name for this project now, Darkness Exhumed. Which can be found at [Darkness-Exhumed.co.uk](http://Darkness-Exhumed.co.uk)As always you can follow me on Twitter. https://twitter.com/SlooowpokeThank you, constructive criticism is extremely welcome on any aspect of the game. Kemerd
Can we currently play multiplayer? I wanna play. :P
Smallbro
Very soon! I promise. I have most of it lined out, fixing a few bugs with the right click menu and I can pile on content into it to make it have a challenge/purpose. I'd also like to redo the combat soon. 0.04 will have hopefully a playable singleplayer and maybe multiplayer.

Mal
This looks an awful lot like Jungle's engine; you two must be using the same tutorials. That being said, it looks good.

SawQuart
> This looks an awful lot like Jungle's engine; you two must be using the same tutorials. That being said, it looks good.I don't use tutorials and I doubt he does either. I use C++, he uses Java.Again, my game is different. It doesn't have zombies or fantasy. It doesn't have single-player– only a really maxed out multiplayer mode, MMO-style. My game uses a different building style, not click-to-build. The crafting system will also be different. I'll put up my project once Kusy finishes the basic graphics so you can see it in detail.I aim to take my game in a completely different direction than this one. I wish Slowpoke the best of luck nonetheless. Making a game like this is hard work and I applaud that.

Smallbro
Update!Darkness Exhumed 0.037 came out recently!(Still working on multiplayer, I have a working version but it doesn't follow the system I desire - I'd like it to be akin to the networking of the Source Engine)**Changes**Zombies! (Finally) - The red people are the zombies,Attack System (push Q or R to attack - will later hold different weapons in different slots)Sheep!Revamped the game so it is less laggy! - I went through the whole project and rewrote it for ease of use and to make it less laggy!Removed Day/Night Cycle - Until I figure out a way of having a day/night cycle that does not devour 20 frames I have removed it.Health, Stamina and Hunger bars have been re-added!A new menu has been added!Explosives!Removed right click menu on in game objects, things in your inventory still have it but items in the world do not.Zombies have been added but the AI is being reworked to incorporate A*, it was just too slow when I implemented it (if anyone has any pointers I'd greatly appreciate them). You can download the newest version from either:[IndieDB](http://www.indiedb.com/games/darkness-exhumed/downloads/darkness-exhumed)[or from the forums.](http://darkness-exhumed.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=83.msg205#new)I'm also recruiting a pixel artist as my current one has decided they don't want to work on it anymore.Feedback is greatly welcomed.Hope everyone here had a good Christmas and I wish you all a happy new year!
