Eclipse Origins install (for Train2Game course)

Hi, I'm new here and I'm working on a course called Train2Game in the Uk. One of our projects is to design a simple 2D level using the Eclipse Origins program. However, none of the links by the course lead to the download, and even the tutorials don't explain where to download it from.
I'm getting really confused as to where and what I need to download and how.
I need a really simple guide to downloading everything I need, to installing and setting up so I can make something (I don't need to a guide on how to make something though!)

I'm currently using Window 10.

Thanks in advance

Install this Runtime File: [CLICK HERE](https://www.dropbox.com/s/4s6xfy4p89vwxnh/install_first_runtimes.exe?dl=0)

Then Run Server.EXE and Eclipse.EXE: [CLICK HERE](https://github.com/EclipseEngine/Eclipse-Origins/archive/master.zip)

Well, to start off, which Eclipse Origins are you talking about, there's multiple, EO 2, 2.3, 3.0, Eclipse Worlds, and the not recommended version, EO 4.0\. Regardless, nearly every engine has a download link in their respected Topics under the Custom Versions board. For EO 2, I don't think anyone has it anymore, 2.3 same issue, 3.0 is http://www.mediafire.com/download/o9gcrxmdlwsjqqx/Eclipse+-++3.0+-+Electrified+Events.rar
Eclipse Worlds you can find under the Custom Versions board or look at the navigation bar on the site and it will say Eclipse Worlds, it will bring you to a GitHub repository, just download the zip.

The next thing you will need to do is you absolutely must have Visual Basic 6.0\. that you will have to find on your own as we are not allowed to post any links to a Visual Basic 6.0 install.
After that, you will have everything you'll need to start making a game!

The Visual basic part is needed to add in features that are otherwise not present within the engine you have chosen, if you don't plan on doing that then you can still technically create a game with just the base engine, you just can't move windows like the Inventory, Main Menu, Spell Menu, etc.

Any more questions feel free to PM me on here!

I have no idea which version as my course doesn't specify.
I've downloaded the versions sent by Lavis (Thank you!), but which server.exe and client.exe am I supposed to run? There are 2 different folders each with their own client and server .exes?

I've got the runtimefiles and installed that.

Another problem is that when I extract the .zip, the extracted folder doesn't contain the server.exe for some reason.

Sorry for being utterly useless at this.
But thank you for the help

You go into the Binaries > Server Folder then double click eoServer.exe then you go back into Binaries > Client Folder and double click eoClient.exe
If you still have trouble run both under backwards capability on Windows XP service pack.

Okay, so I uninstalled McAfee and it's now working, however, I'm not seeing the server window properly. Once I click eoServer, a window pops up and starts flashing loads of writing, then it finishes and just kind of stays there…so I click on the eoClient and logged in, made my player quickly and am in the game worl (just a field)...but I can't access the admin panel or anything to edit the world. Pressing Insert doesn't do anything.

EDIT - Okay, got the admin panel up. This is not very easy to control.
Thanks for the help guys. Is there an easy to explain tutorial anywherre?

I'm doing the same Train2Game course and I've been struggling with this for ages.

The server window does not give me the option to make myself an Admin, it just shows the loaded server files and thats it.

Am I in the wrong window?

You have to click the button in the bottom right corner that says something like "close control" and then it opens up a window that will let you get to the panel that can give you admin access.

Good luck on the course, feel free to message me if you wanna chat about it in general ^_^
