balgus
Hey guys, I was wondering if I should even bother attempting this before I dive in.Essentially what I would like to do is create a room on top of a room. So I was thinking that I would start by having a new map layer that either dissapears or doesn't based on a new variable that could be trigger from a new map attribute. Now also player collision/visibility and whether or not ppl can be attacked would need to be affected as well.So am I crazy or is this not even worth it?Thanks! Exception
It's possible. Don't think anybody's done it (before anybody comments, no, a roof system is nothing like what is being described here. A closer implementation would be sub-maps/regions).Given the crappy map structure, it would be quite a bit of work. In the end, it probably won't be worth it (all you gain from it is the ability to see who's below you, I guess?), you're probably just better off using multiple maps to represent elevation. balgus
Yea that's what I figured! Do you know if the roof system for 2.0 is compatible with the latest release?
Exception
It likely is.Even if you have some minor difficulties, it's still just a case of creating a new tile type and not rendering the fringe tiles where it has that tile type.
Mohenjo Daro
I know a roof system with disappearing graphics has been done, so all you'd really have to do is just make the attributes appear and disappear too. I don't know how that'd work exactly, but that's the basic idea
