  1. @Zetta: > >implying that JFK knew what he was doing with NASA >implying that any president knew what they were doing with NASA
  2. Disclaimer: I'm sure someone's done this before, but I don't see any that are active, so let's try it! It's simple. We're going to make a story. How? Well first I begin and you continue the story however you want. Let's keep each contribution short. I'll start, obviously. Once upon a time there was a frog named Johnny.
  3. I feel a song coming on!

    More sprites

For the tiles, I believe there is a variable in data.ini (located in the server folder) that will allow you to change how many tile sheets you can have.

    Error?

Chances are he didn't download the library files.

  7. >! ![](http://www.rentacomputer.com/images/phoenix-arizona.jpg) Beautiful Phoenix, Arizona.
  8. Personally, I use izArc. It's been able to open every single type of compressed file I've ever come across.
  9. @Robin: > Oh, sorry. > > It's _theoretically_ impossible. Haha, ok. I'm not going to fight you, Robin.
  10. @Robin: > Yes, but you can't just ignore the fact that it's physically impossible to remove the cover whilst it's in the gameboy, and you're going to end up shorting out your entire cartridge and/or gameboy by fucking around with the circuitry whilst it's still on. @Xavi: > I'm talking very theoretically here.
  11. @Robin: > @Xavi: > > > I'm talking very theoretically here. I mean technically if somebody did do that and somehow not mess it up, then you should be able to keep your data, right? I don't see why not. > > Because the Gameboy's power supply isn't connected to the cartridge's memory. >_> Well what I'm saying is that your like "Hey, I bet my Pokemon Yellow or whatever is about to run out of batteries! I should replace it before it does!" The problem is that if you do, you'll still lose your game data whether you do it before the battery runs out or not as soon as you take it out. If you 1\. Turned on the gameboy 2\. Loaded your save data 3\. Somehow opened the cartridge while it's still in the gameboy 4\. Replaced the battery 5\. Saved the game again Then you should technically be able to keep your game data even when you just replaced the battery. Get what I'm saying?
  12. @Robin: > @Xavi: > > > Well maybe if you found a way to replace the batteries while the game is powered by the gameboy? I'd be impressed if you did. > > … you're suggesting we take off the cover of the game and unsolder a battery from the cartridge _whilst it's running and powered up?_ I'm talking very theoretically here. I mean technically if somebody did do that and somehow not mess it up, then you should be able to keep your data, right? I don't see why not.
  13. @Robin: > @Kevin49: > > > Wait, changing the batterie means that what ever we do the game data will be cleared? > > Obviously. They wouldn't call it battery-backed memory if it didn't require a battery. xD Well maybe if you found a way to replace the batteries while the game is powered by the gameboy? I'd be impressed if you did.
  14. @Kevin49: > Wait, changing the batterie means that what ever we do the game data will be cleared? The operation would be interesting if we still play the games afterwards :s You bet. Even a mere second where the game doesn't have a good battery in it will clear the memory. Quite a shame, aye?
  15. @Robin: > No, seriously, your lack of understanding about the basic principles of computing is disturbing. Somebody should probably explain.

Thanks Asshole ;D > > Why the urge to insult me Buttlicker? ;D This conversation has nothing to do with me, stupid people ;D @Zamin: > Is this the 2012 of the internet ;D? Lol, just random thinking going on in my head after reading that… lol Nope, if internet has a 2012, it would probably be that "internet 2" thing that people talk about. I have no idea if it's true or not.

@[PIE: > Rodriguez link=topic=63115.msg673744#msg673744 date=1280504589] > Running VB6 in WINE is usually not a good idea, at least for me. Check your WINE config. I've actually had to fresh install WINE a few times to get everything working. That's why I just run XP in VirtualBox. > > - Adulese Hmm, I didn't know about VirtualBox, not that I was looking for it. I'm going to have to try it out when I get home.
  18. @Kevin49: > Ahh… > So thats why my Pokemon data and other old games suddenly disappear. > Thanks !
  19. @Robin: > @Xavi: > > > Can you? I opened it up and the battery was sautered (or however you spell that) in. I assumed you couldn't replace it. > > Read the guide I posted. Thank you, Robin. That will help me quite a bit.
  20. Just to clarify, I wasn't talking about the batteries in the Gameboy, I was talking about the batteries in the games. Yes, there's a battery!!!!! It keeps part of the game running so that the data isn't lost. It's like if your computer stored all it's files on RAM. If you turned off your computer, the info would be gone, right? That's how I understand it. @Kusy: > You realise that you CAN change the battery in a gameboy? They use those flat bateries some clocks use. Can you? I opened it up and the battery was sautered (or however you spell that) in. I assumed you couldn't replace it.

    Ubuntu

I just love this topic. Look, I started with Ubuntu as well. I was like "Lulz! It's Ubintew!!! Thiz gunna be sooo eazzzy!" Well, it wasn't really all that easy. Ubuntu is very usable when you get used to it, but you have to forget all the shortcuts and handholding that Windows has given you. @Harris: > Command Line? Is that the terminal thing? Yes, that's exactly what it is. Kinda. That's going to be your best friend. Get used to him. Also, Wine is nice, but it doesn't run everything. You have to remember that your using Ubuntu, not Windows. Try using programs made for Ubuntu as replacements. There's quite a few.
  22. OMG GUYZZZ! The internet is gunna die because we have to switch to a different system!!!!! Change is what kills us all!!!! Seriously though, XP not supporting this new thing is a problem, but maybe it's time to move on. Currently my XP on my desktop computer is so jacked up that it moves at the pace of a snail. I think Ubuntu ate it. Edit: Oh, and the World Wide Web has a fine boob size, thank you very much
  23. Recently, my copy of Pokemon Gold quit saving. I'm guessing that it's because it's battery died, and apparently all I can do is get a new one. Well, it got me to thinking. ~~What happens when all the copies have dead batteries? It'll happen eventually, won't it? Sure, there will be emulators and stuff, but won't it be a shame when we can't save on our beloved gameboys? Could this happen?~~ Edit: Never mind, they can be replaced. Here's a link that Robin posted on how to fix it in case anyone is interested. http://www.pokemasters.net/forums/showthread.php?t=15464 New technology is fantastic. No longer will our progress and scores depend on the life of a single watch battery!
