  1. VB6 pretty much is sadScript, there shouldn't be any problems.
  2. @Konsty: > (As we know 99% won't ever get to a open beta, but still I wish everyone the best of luck with this engine!) I'm making my last go at a 2D game using EO, its clean, its simple, and isn't full of trash features nobody wants. By the way I actually was going to donate money, then I opened my account on the net and realized I'm just about as poor as you, when I get payed I'll donate a couple bucks. Those of you who plan on using EO should donate, think about it guys, its a couple bucks and goes to a good cause.
  3. Looks solid, good job. The mini convo. system is neat. I'd like to see the client side editor.
  4. Send me a PM and I will respond, please include your MSN, if you are in the States you can give me your cell I have unlimited texting. Make sure it is detailed and I can actually write a legitimate estimate based on the information you've given me.
  5. Some of you may know me, for those of you who don't - I am an experienced vb6 coder. I have worked on various projects over the years, starting at eclipse as a mapper in 07' since then I got into programming and eventually wrote my own engine. You can see work (Not the graphics, but all in game screenshots are from my engine) here: [World of Hyrule](http://www.worldofhyrule.org/phpBB3/viewforum.php?f=19&sid=4fea1bae592789b3eb60d66348d722ab) I am capable of adding almost any features to your game be it vb6 or some other brand of mirage. Drag and Drop/Visual Improvement Storage Auction DirectX 8 Dynamic Faction vs Faction Anything you can think of… just ask. If you are interested you can PM me and I will respond promptly with an estimate for the job. For a general idea estimates will be between 15 and 50 dollars. Sometimes more with very complex features. Pictures below are from various projects over the years.
  6. @Robin: > @[PIE: > > > ICT link=topic=57637.msg651119#msg651119 date=1276903654] > > A quest system with a scripting system? that dynamic enough? > > Sacrificing speed like that is not an option. > > For EC we'll be using hardcoded 'scripting'. modScripts. > > Where unique events such as quests, 'scripted' items etc. can all be created. I made a module named the same a few days ago and made a basic quest system that can be utilized through 'scripting'. You guys really don't want a quest editor all your quests are gonna be dry and super-repetitive. I've been doing a couple of things over the past few days, this code is really well put together, its pretty simple to just whip new feature in. Good job on making the best engine eclipse has had yet.

  8. @Japez: > Because its "his" engine. duh. Love the quotes, and obviously I'm not going to hand the source out to anyone. I've been working on it since Arkland for those of you who remember that game. I talked to Kreator last night, and I think the main reason for the downfall was a lot of communication issues. The game has not bitten the dust, its on the brink of completion and after a talk with Kreator it is a possibility that it will resume very soon. > This has happend since 2004. Again… for the record, I rarely ever just gave up on any of my projects most of the time everyone in the team decides its not worth finishing and they all move on, then I apply the engine to some other game. People hating on me cause many projects I start do not get finished need to review pretty much everyone in the community to see how many failed projects they have been part of. Getting a 2D game off the ground is a huge task and most people (myself included) jump head first into huge projects that take a lot of time and patience to complete. World of Hyrule, will see completion provided Kreator and I get in contact and sort out the last few steps we need to take.
  9. The engine has been ready and waiting to plug in a database for a very long time which was not my job, the engine did not fail due to my lack of motivation. Everyone quit. I requested specific resources to keep working which never came along. If the game is ready… Graphically, then its ready for an alpha, its been like that for a long... long time. A lack of communication and our pissed up time zones put us out of touch. I'm getting a little fvckin sick of this Spainion bashing where everyone just points figures and blames me for the downfall of Hyrule, for the record I have never insulted or blamed Kreator for anything that happened with the project so now there is all of a sudden all this hostility towards me cause I actually have a life and this is a hobby. I don't have time to sit around posting on forums, I work six days a week, and I still quite regularly work on my engine. The engine has some bugs and some tweaking to do... Yes, for the most part it has been completed and I've been sitting here waiting for a database to plug in so we can debug this thing as a team.
  10. The client I sent Jay included the GUI because he needs to be able to design his own that is the same relative shape, I did not include any of the other graphics in the client I sent, that GUI you made is quite blatantly a rip of Japez's GUI and you are going to have to redesign it to avoid conflicts. As far as using the same pallet goes that's pretty irrelevant a lot of pixel artist I know find a pallet to make shit it doesn't matter really. @ιмαgσ: > You'd have no idea who I am but i'd just like to give you a nice little warning.. > Spanion has moved from game to game ditching one hopeful game developer after another. The engine he is probably using for your game has been in the making for years, adapting as it changed projects. It's like a virus. > > I suggest you check out screen shots of World of Hyrule and to a lesser extent screenshots of Arkland if you can find them. Both contained graphics made by the very talented Kreator and Immanual. He has left those two impressive projects within the past 1-2 years and I know he will probably read this and tell you a story about me but hey.. the moment he stops talking to you via msn or whatever is the day you prepare for him to bail. Fair warning. > > I'm sure you're a good bloke Jay. I don't mean to attack you in anyway. Oh and japez.. blow me  I think you got that one a little backwards you worthless pile of shit. Everytime I pour my effort and time into a game I end up with some fucking douche-bag development team that stop/slow work to a crawl so I move on in an effort to maintain consistent development. This engine is probably 90% done and I need to close the gap to a finished product, I don't help with game development when I work on a game I just keep developing the engine, fixing bugs and tweaking features. When the development team stops putting effort into the game in areas where it needs to be developed the most I fuck off and move on. Plus I've rarely meet a "hopeful" game developer all the projects I worked on crashed as a result of the entire team stopping work. At least half of the projects that I had worked on my dev team left and I had no one to work with anymore. I got a lot of Respect for Japez and Kreator regardless of what they think of me, we all stopped working it wasn't a result of me ditching anyone. Seven Nations, My dev team Left. Arkland - Immanuel Left. So shove that theory up your ass. > Alright, now you all realize that Spanion is a I fail at life, do you want me to split off the rant somewhere? Or just clear the thread? Now robin I do remember having an argument with you somewhere on these forums and smacking you around like a little girl you self righteous ass. I never boast about how awesome I am or how things "Pwn" because I made them so you can keep your mouth shut about me I barely ever post here unless some idiot is trying to tarnish my name publicly.
  11. > You dont put effects on pixel art… omg. I clearly said that I tried to remove it this was a very very old version of the sheet and the only one I could find. This was well over a year and a half age when I was working on my like third game, so don't act like I don't know that. @Insert: > Yes, but often some things automatically CONVERT them to anti aliasing. > Now how to fix that: > You can do this with Paint.NET or PhotoShop or probably a heap of other programs. > For the purpose of this, i will show Paint.NET > Paste into paint.NET > Look on the tool bar for a squiggly line looking thing ( > . ) > Yeah that shape. > Click the arrow, and press Anti-Aliasing Disabled. > There, fixed. > And yes Spainion, there is AA in there, as most paint programs auto AA when you use a bevel or emboss you should know that. ![](http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/5310/97944925.png) Oh my god! Do you see no AA! I do! Now please just fu.ck off… Sick of these fucking kids who learn to use Paint.NET and photoshop off a tutorial of some high school Com Tech class and think they know something. > Its probably for an older version of eclipse you might have to reposition some stuff manually. No I don't mean AA for the record. I mean different versions of eclipse I presume changed the draw location at some point and this was used for a much much older version of eclipse.
  12. @Insert: > I believe the correct term is anti aliasing :\ What the hell are you talking about? There is no Anti-Aliasing on that sheet.
  13. @King: > i used them and al this black stuff comes up its very glitchy plus some of the items disappear wen facing certain angles and not moving ;\ any1 help (:? Its probably for an older version of eclipse you might have to reposition some stuff manually. @XxArchAngelxX: > HOLY duck ITS SPANION, havnt seen you in ages. Great sheet I lurk.
  14. Sprite… well... I have a nude one somewhere... This one looks liek complete shit, but, all you need to do is use the outline and reskin him. If you don't like the Bevel, I think you can reverse, bevel it in photoshop, if not. Wahever. ![](http://www.lexipixelgames.com/sprites.png)
  15. This is my old paperdoll sheet I found from my other games like seven nations and Fitch Regime, anyone can use or modify it just throw my name in the credits please. Don't PM me, I couldn't give a damn if you don't get it working or do. ![](http://lexipixelgames.com/Items.png)
  16. .NET is much better then vb6 anyone who knows that they are doing could probably do it inside a month working on it a couple hours a night, but who has a couple hours a night to convert something that already works to .NET just because… If anything convert the server to C++ that's where my vote gets cast for now.
  17. @Simius: > its running in 'software processing' so fps was sacrificed for compatibility for older cards. Make it test hardware processing and if it fails, test mixed processing, if that fails, test software processing so people with good cards don't have to deal with a pointless less. Even if it doesn't matter I used to have a computer (Very Old) that ran under 20 FPS in software and over 100 in Hardware cause I had a shitty dedicated. Easy to do, take someone like you 10 minutes.
  18. My speakers wheeze at me, make like a low tone ring nonstop, and yes i'm all up to date on everything, and everything is registered correctly. My GUI shows like shit, its like a super low res Jpeg? I have a ASUS Geforce 8800 and I get 110 FPS? get 400-500 FPS in any other D3D engine? The "Custom Fonts" are skewed and don't render correctly at all. Just things I noticed as I logged in, there is going to be like dozens of outcomes based on the model of the card and resolution of the users screen, should probably run tests on other computer before any final release. Integrated video cards in general should be supported otherwise you have cut out a good half of your possible "Players" not everyone has a dedicated video card… Optimize a bit more.
  19. Here is a box, Kinda screwed up on it several times I guess use it or lose it applies to art as well.
  20. @JBA: > Are you joking? I'm not trying to start anything here, but I've had this game since October 28, and everyday I pop it in my Xbox I'm always finding new things and exploring new places… I haven't even been to the upper half of the world yet! I personally find it hard to believe all of the things to do and see in this game. > > Nevertheless, to each his own. If you don't like it, it's not affecting anyone else form enjoying it. ;) I have explored a good 80% of the world running into the same problems over and over, and being forced to use VATS to conserve ammo at times is annoying the first person view sucks ass, if you play to hit anything effectively you can't use it (For Xbox) The items suck and are so so limited, there is like what 40 or 50 STADIC weapons, if that. But yeah you are right its just my opinion… this game has high ratings, I am just a very very picky gamer. Oblivion, was classic, if they remade an Oblivion 2 with a new world and story I would buy it in a second. Fallout just lacked in too many areas for me to like it, another thing I like is lush and lively area's with many npcs which was something fallout sucked for just walking through loads and loads of dead land got really boring. With the requirements thing... If you have almost any dual core computer: Buy 2gb's of RAM which is like... 30 bucks Buy a cheap card like ASUS GeForce 8800 GT for 50 bucks Now you can run any game on the market on highest settings and the video card comes with safe overclocking tools, they aren't coming out with games that need gaming computers because they want a wide variety of people to be able to play. I set up a computer which was a Dual Core 2.2, 2Gbs 800Mhz RAM and a ASUS 8800 and I could run Call of Duty World at War on Highest with 8 times Antliasing via the Video Control Panel. Rebel! Never buy a computer from a store... or I'll hunt you down...
  21. @Robin: > "TYLER ROCKS AND ROBIN SUCKS LOLOLOL" More along the lines of… your a prick, to everyone and can't take a hint. But sure, whatever you read it as. I just figured hey... I don't feel like sitting here and reading more of your bullshit where you trash everyone. Merry Christmas!
  22. Its editing the code behind the application… and it wouldn't be source coding it would be editing the source code. Open Source means that anyone can publicly edit the engine at any time.
  23. I am working on like 3 editors for Hyrule at the moment if I had more time I would but just about every hour I have extra I try to get more of Hyrule done.
  24. @Devogen: > Oh cool.. > > I take no credit other than googling the code and finding it, im not getting defensive of it, rather saying that i have had zero issues graphically with it. When ee3.0 comes out ill most likely port the lot over to that anyway and use dx too, much more efficient. Aye sir, almost everything starts with google.
  25. @Devogen: > This method has zero performance loss. Maybe your method needed some love. Most likely, it was one of my first eclipse source mods, I was rather shitty, I prefer DX now though, kinda enjoy GUI coding actually.
