  1. Not only is the code in question _identical_, it also has the _exact_ same comments and commented out debug messages that I used, with coherent English, proper spelling, and grammar. You didn't even remove that. Given your broken English, I _highly_ doubt that is a coincidence. **The submitted code in question also has an earlier publishing date than your engine, something that even you can't attempt to debunk.** Anyway, I'm **not** discussing the matter publicly, like I said, I'm taking the matter to Marshy Dearest.
  2. > …And only thing what i used from Eclopti is MipMaps disabling... Hehe. Anyway, I've had enough of you claiming my work as your own. I'm collating my proof, and PMing Marshy Dearest.
  3. Oh, it's this topic, again. EDIT: To compare .NET's memory allocation and management to Java's is idiotic at best.
  4. It's possible using BASS and FMOD. To my knowledge, it's not possible with DirectSound8, although, I could be wrong, or it may be a part of the DirectPlay API (If it was even a part of DirectX8, can't actually remember). I tried it with FMOD, and it was quite laggy, and stopped the thread of execution repeatedly. I imagine it doesn't have use in a game, or at least, in a programming language that doesn't support multi-threading (sigh). When I get home later, I'll try it with BASS, and tell you how that goes, although, judging that streaming from the internet stopped the thread of execution, too, I'm not riding too much hopes on it.
  5. So many people on this forum. They use the following words as if it means something: optimise, stable, clean, buggy, unstable, othersynonymforcleanhere, etc… ...I don't think it means what they think it means.
  6. > … Its much easier to optimize and remove then to start from scratch... Ok, so why did the transition from the bugged Eclipse Stable to the from-scratch Eclipse Origins happen, then, if it's easier to fix buggy things than to start from scratch? Why did the programmers here with actual prowess support Robin with his decision, rather than argue that it'd be quicker and easier to fix up ES? Because, it's actually the complete opposite, funnily enough.

Yeah, John, as it turns out, Grid36's data centres were in Sandy's path, so….yeah, I wouldn't complain too much.

Most likely. If it doesn't stop within today, I'm contacting them. It's irritating me now.
  10. Interesting poll. I'm actually curious to know, now.

  12. > Your filtering process is rather strict for a team getting a low response rate. It isn't. I just have to draw a line somewhere. > You can barely get anyone interested and then you complain about their english. People have been interested, matey. I'm looking to expand my choices a bit more. I can easily complain about your English, seeing as you were applying for a dominantly writing position. It's a reasonable complaint, it's not like I'm being unfair. > Anyway i was offering the help cause i felt pity for this topic. Well, I don't need your pity. PMs =/= public responses, after all, I did ask for PMs. I just complained about the less-than-expected response, not no response. > I recommend you close it and try again at a later time cause clearly, no one wants to help hitler finish his card game. Well, that was just uncalled for. Go away.
  13. Well, it's unavoidable given that few are responding, and I am in need of people to fulfill positions. Currently, it's VB6 and GDI+, although, I am looking into converting it to VB.NET (Still using GDI+.) Anyway, Onyxmon isn't an Eclipse game, it's with a custom engine. It's also text-based to some extent, and you lack coherence. I don't really want to spend my side of the development time proof-reading content.
  14. Still looking for people to fill in the positions! I'm in need of the Developer position!

Bumpity bump bump. Added an icon, and moderately changed some colours. I also changed the index to use the forum headers, rather than it's own thing. I also added a Twitter feed (@GlaciateDotNet).
  16. Oh, this forum. /offtopic
  17. > Thats one damn long bridge if those are the sizes of towns. The bridge is almost 2 towns long. Besides that I do like your world map on a general scale. Uh…that never really occurred to me. xD
  18. Oh, I have names that'll pop up when you scroll over them planned, so, hopefully that should clear up any confusion. The idea of making them appear more as settlements works, and when I add houses in various places along paths, desolate places, etc, it should make it less confusing. Thanks!
  19. > Looks beautiful, well done! One question though, what are the groups of specks in between the roads? Are they towns? > > Just curious. None-the-less it's looking great ![:)](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons//smile.png) Yes, they are… If they're not as...obvious (Not sure of the word.) as I'd like it to be, do you have any suggestion to improve the look of it, just to make sure the end-user can look at it and instantly get it's a town? > i like the colors, it reminds me of a gba game called golden sun Ah, thanks. ![:D](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons//biggrin.png)

    What is best?

Eclipse Origins 2.0 (+ Bug Fixes + D3D8 conversion.). NONE of the custom versions should be used as a base. Rip stuff that you want from them instead, and work on integrating what you need effectively.
  21. I'm undecided about that. That depends on the timescale, and how well this form goes.
  22. ![](http://services.glaciate.net/file_host/host/5c6551cb6ebf0debb4bfe04949a5df66.png) Uh, not much to say. I got bored, and realised that my project was lacking a sense of mapping, so I made a world map. It's styled after the style of the Unova map from Pokémon Black/White/Black 2/White 2, but the only thing directly from it is the mountains and the pallete. I've yet to come up with a name, and I've yet to pixel out the landmarks, such as ruins, etc, but I just wanted some feedback on what to improve. Comments and criticisms would be greatly appreciated! Just to state, It is not for anybody to freely use. I'm aware of theives that will take anything that doesn't belong to them. It's for my own project.
  23. Dual boot Win7 and Win8, if you're indecisive. ![:P](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons//tongue.png)

    New Developer

Eclopti has done many things to massively decrease RAM usage, and a couple of things to decrease CPU usage. CPS should generally have increased for most. I ain't doing any UDP system, though. There's no ultimate point. Gonna have to wait for somebody else to come along, first.
  25. You _were_ that position offer, and it weren't even related to the above areas. ![:D](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons//biggrin.png)
