  1. My _opinion_ is you go with what Wraith said, that the logo be placed on a night themed background. You have the moon on the logo, but a bright background, it doesn't keep the idea consistent. As a designer, you need to portray a 'message' with a limited amount of words, and people can't tell that Nightvale is a town from that design piece, you'll just get a lot of confused people wondering what the correlation between the typeface and background is. Personally, i'd go with a darker background, the typeface is too dominant with the thick black stroke and dark color. Take what you want out of that, I do like the bevel though. Nice work ;)
  2. ..And it's back. Though I do vouch for Socuine, his work is amazing. If you want a good logo design or the such, it would be wise to invest a little money in hiring this sucka.

  4. First thing I noticed is the face is looking directly at the screen. Try to get it facing forward, by lowering the eyes 1 or two pixels down (Obviously this includes the mouth too).
  5. Waistline and legs give off that this is a female, along with it's arm area. If it is a man, try to bulken him up a bit more. The helmet looks great though ;)

  7. Just finished a new makeover for [Ambershire's](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/smf/index.php/topic,68937.0.html) sprite base. The last one was so limited in the fact that the hands were undetailed, the feet could only wear round shoes that went up about 3 pixels, and they were practically little ugly dwarves. ![](http://www.ambershire.net/user/toranos/compare1.png) Them!–--^----------------^ It's rather pokemon trainer styled.. But that'll be fixed once the walkcycle in introduced, and also 8-direction, but it's just because of the simple and skimped shading. Ambershire will be taking a pixel by pixel movement approach, and so this will be perfect for such a system. This will also mean an entirely new style, so all my tilesets will have to be kicked out on their arses (Don't worry Chief, I'll still use facial hair). I won't be giving any of the paperdolling over though, as the ideas are AS owned. Tileset can go with, but it's hideous, tbh. Anyone can make a pure green grass tile. But i'd happy to see my work go into any promising project.

    My drawings.

    Just wanted to show off. I've recently started drawing a bit more realistic, and once I get a tablet, might start doing some serious concept art for Ambershire. Wallpapers.. Loading Screens.. whatever I can inject my art into. Isabelle is an OC of mine, used her in a RP we did in Merrimint. Yeah, there's a really specific breeze of wind that affects only small parts of her hair.     It's hard to get isometric wrong, but good job in that aspect. Maybe try making the brick outlines more suggestive, creating the 'shadow' part more, rather than just purely black lines, for the next version.
  12. I actually commend you, most people just use pre-made graphics, but this doesn't look half bad. Yeah, colours may need a bit of a revamp, some colours I don't quite understand, and the buildings look rather awkward, but that deer is quite well made, and you have a lot to show. It's not easy creating tilesets, paperdolls, spritesheets and spells, so I definitely recognize the time and effort you've put into this, it's more than most can say they put into their games, heck, you've probably done more work than I have on Ambershire. Get a good palette, by searching the net or something, and you'll be set. It's really just a matter of practice with pixel art, and you're headed in the right direction Grizzy. Good job so far.

If you have to use references, use them. Look at 2D games like zelda, and realise why they don't use graphics like this.

  18. Ambershire has a new first post, giving you a _large_ insight to the new beginning story, for anyone who actually wants to read it hah. Along with that, new idea concepts, the idea of jobs, personality, knowledge, the basic, yet original ideas Ambershire has to offer. We also have given different screenshots, bare maps, concept art, art that hasn't been finished (process showing, idk), GUI previews.. It's all there. Ambershire has begun to fly, my children.     Mixing Sprites!

    Try making something of you're _own_ then, then you can get the feedback you want. Because at the moment, the only feedback I could say, is don't save as JPEG, it ruined the entire image.
