Exception
Welp, I got bored of my extended-coding session, and decided to have a go at pixel art. Done in Photoshop, the palette is directly from The Wind Waker+Dolphin.![](http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/files/imagehost/pics/c7c4cdce16b78ad22d6b570c7e6b9fa0.png)I suck at pixel art, but suggest improvements and critiques, anyway.I don't really have much plans on using it, but I'd like to continue making it. It's fun. =D
MCADAMS
Tileset isn't bad in general…doesn't remind me of Wind Waker at all, though.

skevsan
So after going back to study a million images of Wind Waker to be able to give you accurate criticism, I can honestly say that you are off to a good start. From look at the texture of the cliffs, it looks like you are grasping the Wind Waker style…The cell-shading effect is pretty hard to obtain, but from the looks of the cliffs, you seem to be replicating it pretty well. However, I would say that I feel the colors should be more vibrant. You mentioned that you took the palette directly from WW, but I feel that the colors should be more vibrant. Especially if you are using about 2-3 tones for your shading. Your cliffs have a nice tone, but I would brighten up your grass, sand, and water. Also, you need to soften up your edges. Your cliffs and water borders are entirely too square. After many years of erosion, you should end up with something looking like this...http://tinyurl.com/cqbe244I found this link to provide you with some more textures ripped straight from the game...http://www.textures-resource.com/wii_gamecube/tLoZWW/sheet/429I figure this could help you with all the basics you need; land, cliffs, trees, and even your transitions.Overall, I think these are pretty sick. I hope you're putting them to good use by creating some sort of Wind Waker based game. I am in love with the graphics from the game, and any project basing visuals off of WW would look amazing.Good job!
Exception
Haha, thanks, that was quite insightful. As for the texture resource, can't say I've ever noticed that before. xDAnd, if I can ever find the time, I probably would use these in a WW-inspired game..if not, I might zip 'em up for future use, or just give them away for others to use. =DI'll be sure to get started with doing that pretty soon. Likestodraw
It's not bad; just revise the cliff textures. I think the colors are also a bit too contrasting on the cliff.
