Not bad, but the highlight can be worked on a bit, also make sure you have a pushed in version too

6/10 the gloss at the top is too short, and the diagonal patterns aren't necessary.

the diagonal patterns are just for extra looks, do you think it would look better with out them?

It's too big and too shiny. A GUI made up of components like that will not match the old-school feel and simplicity of an Eclipse game.

You could always make it smaller. The bigger the better the quality it is once it is smaller right?

yes, dont mean to be smart but obviously not going to have it that big, and derrick, im not to sure if that is correct but that was the main reason of making it bigger, also that i could adjust to any sort of smaller size. too shiny? maybe your right, i will go for a darker shaded look, but not all games would need the "old school feel". thankyou and keep it coming will i redo one

By shiny, I mean it's far too 3D for a 2D game ;D

As for the old-school feel, I don't see how such simple games could have any appeal any other way o.O

Anyway… if you can put that button into a matching GUI that looks good in your game, I'll give you a medal, because it's bloody impossible ;D

Keep your GUI simple. Use a couple of textures, keep it neat and tidy and make sure it doesn't draw attention away from the game itself.

Its ok, if you plan on using it for the web, but for GUI… i guess you would really have to work on it, most of the time games have plain text with some effects (Glow, Shadows, or others).

I suggest you reduce the opacity of the whole button, so it doesnt take that much attention from more Important things (the game).

The GUI is the first thing your players will see and you need to make a Good first impression.

ok, maybe i will work on a more "simple" button for a "simple" GUI, maybe somewhere along the lines of bricks, or stone. can i have some ideas please?
