Legen5
I know this isn't the greatest, I'm just looking for some tips on where I can improve. Rating it is fine as well.![](http://i33.tinypic.com/t7ib69.jpg)Ignore the sprite, it's still being made and adding it was just a test.PS: The obvious increase in the tree density is because this is a transition map. zombie0hour
Try to add more detail its very open. Also do not square the long grass as it does not look natural.
Legen5
Yeah the grass was one of the things i was going to change. (I assume you mean the one in the bottom left?)As for the openness, it's because we're going to add monsters to it soon and when I had it detailed it seemed very cluttered. Any suggestions on what to add down there?
Fenix
Though for a first, it's actually pretty damn good. As for details, there's always the little flowers and things that can go as a layer over the grass. They don't really take up space, and players can walk over them, but it will give your eyes more to look at.
Legen5
I changed it a little bit, added a tent and a campfire to the bottom part, along with some small things. I'm too lazy to update the picture though, taking the 4 shots and syncing them is a pain XPI dont know of an easier way.
Guest
:o that is a first map? Damn man! Wonder what your maps will look like when you are more experianced!
AdrianC
Top - Not badBottom left - Pretty badAlso, try to add some mud or something, instead of just grass.
DrNova
looks good, but again I repeatr the above "avoid to many straight sections".I generally go with a 3 straight peices in a row max as my rule of thumb
Khachaturian
The cliffs are too straight if they aren't man made.Overall, it looks decent
Khalus
Way too much "square" and 90' angles….make more diagonal or rounded areas.
Anna Comnena
Not bad at all. Cliffs are too straight, and there are too many open areas on the lower meadow that need either grass, stones, flowers, or all of those!
Legen5
Updated. I dont feel like messing with the cliffs right now, Im really busy with other stuff. And I dont think theres a way to make bodies of water less boxy, but if there is a way go ahead and let me know :]
Guest
only way is to edit the water buy pixel. But its not worth it.
Khalus
@Legen5:> And I dont think theres a way to make bodies of water less boxy, but if there is a way go ahead and let me know :]Use a tileset with diagonal water pieces! Here is an example of water done correctly!![](http://i295.photobucket.com/albums/mm124/Khrymson_WAR/Diagonal-Water.jpg)

The Oracle
nice first map! impressive for a first. I just think it's a little empty. It would also look better with a better tileset (not the default) imo.
Tyr
pretty good for a first map, try to blend the grass and to fill the open space a bit up (but keep it playable)overall gj
F0x
This is actually pretty good for a first, ill give you that.I would give it a 9/10 (based on the fact that it is your first map, and ive seen a lot worse)
