SO, I have decided to take on the challenge, but first, I wanted to make a sprite. here is a WIP of the sprite to come. the head is a bit "awkward" but like i said like 3 times, its a WIP…but, the head is badly shaped and will be reshaped next time I work on it… bedtime!--------------------------------Here is a sprite with some adjustments:–------------------------------completely new s[rite: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Mulkaar Posted February 5, 2009 Share Posted February 5, 2009 The reason you messed up the head is unless you are going for a really serious game side scrollers are usually Chibi or Manga. Google Chibi and youll find the heads are small at the top and get out into a bigger shape. For a good example look at breeze. But apart from that its alright. 8/10\. His head is massive, his doped expression makes him look mindless, his stomach looks fake, overall just looks retarded. The head looks like a balloon even more so due to the shading. You've shaded it precisely as you would a smooth sphere.I wouldn't bother reworking it, start from scratch, this time get the anatomy right. Chief Posted February 7, 2009 Author Share Posted February 7, 2009 ahh, wah…. well, ive never done side scroller stuff before so yeah, its gonna suck... well, i knew it still needed more adjustments but alright kreator... ill redo the whole thing... and it is a lot betetr than the first... it jsut that I accidentally saved the old voer the new and hosted it with same name so it erased the old one and whatever... but alright, ill make new ones...edit:well, I based some of the body off what green gave me and I got a whole new palette and shaded it nicely... i think...example: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Even if the game is side scrolling doesn't mean the graphics have to be exact side view, that is boring. Look at Windslayer, their sprites didn't look much different from his first ones, they had the same pose and half-front half-side perspective, and they look good.
