  6. actually this one looks much better compared to the tiny birds enterbrain did.   9. it's .png because jpeg is low quality. NEVER EVER save pixelart as jpg :) If you are serious at becoming better at pixelart I suggest you read it though, if not good luck. ps. use a one pixel "penciltool"
  10. So, let's see where we went wrong.. There are different kinds of ways to approach pixelart, you can either decide to block it out or use outlines. You seem to have mixed those two, which resulted in blocked outlines. These two don't match well so I suggest starting with an outline "which is the easiest way for beginning pixelartists". help image: ![](http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s315/greensoft/outlinehelp.png) ![](http://www.greensart.exnw.com/gallery/news/basiclineart.png) ps: paint is an excellent tool :) especially for lineart. When you're coloring pixelart I prefer graphicsgale or paint.net since they have extra layers.

  14. actually I do my sprites as following: ![](http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s315/greensoft/howtocreateaslime.png) 1: sketch and concept work. 2: create palette and place the basic colors. 3: determine lightsource and clean the lineart. 4: create first shades and highlights. 5: create darker shades. 6: create brighter highlights. 7: create details and sellout. :)
