I have a compaq presario cq60-211dx notebook pc. There are many newer versions of it now, with Windows 7, etc. But the one I have isn't too great just running something like Runescape, however, it's perfect for Eclipse/XtremeWorlds, etc. if that's all you need it for.

You can run games like runescape(I just remembered, I can play Cabal on this computer, though.) on a netbook, too.  :azn:

I have ways of getting really good deals, price isn't really a problem here. I just wanna know f there was a good laptop for Eclipse, because I plan on running my game on it. I also have some other games so I need a laptop specifically made for gaming or a laptop really good for gaming.

Gaming & Eclipse are different. Mostly any new computer should be able to run it. While WoW, Cabal, Runescape… Alot more memory, graphics, etc.

And if all you're planning to do with it is Eclipse, don't get it. I think a desktop is much better, especially for hosting. And the fact that making anything off of such games is slim... You could alwasy go to the store buy one, and come back and say you don't like it within 14 days.  XD

I'm going to be getting a Dell Studio 17 Laptop soon, it has many features like a 9 cell battery ( makes it last longer, as in no more constant charging. ), a Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD and the memory is 2 GB and a Hard Drive of 160GB, also comes with Genuine Windows 7.

$599.00

-Hope that helps!

@Robin:

> Depends on which copy of Eclipse you're using. If you're using EE or ES you'll need a computer around 10x more powerful than if you were using Origins.

You really like to compare your engine and make it feel some much better, don't you?  :P

On-Topic: I believe mine is 2GB and 160 HD aswell, although no cam and worse with games, most likely why the price was 'cheap'. I'll have to start looking for a better one and let you guys know what I come up with.

He's asking what kind of specifications he'll need for Eclipse. I'm pointing out that it's dependant on which version he's using.

Just because the one you bought crashed doesn't mean netbooks as a whole are terrible.

Yes and Robin gave me the info I was looking for. I am using ES. I would use EO, but it requires programming. Sounds hard.

True. I plan on learning to do the programming eventually. I just don't have enough free time to learn it right now. School ends in three weeks though, I'll learn then.

Let me rephrase that. Finding a legal/free/cheap copy of VB6 could be hard.

Robin said internet, you were speaking in general; was I replying to Robin, or you?
@JamesTown:

I see no where that you mention the internet as only means of acquiring vb6.

Once again, you don't limit yourself to the internet.

Your point is that the price will most likely shoot up by the time the bid reaches it's end.
My point is that the potential of finding the software cheap on eBay exists XD

I don't like you.. I was replying to Robin who said finding software on internet… etc., etc. And now we're here.  :azn:  Also, how does your local shop/ w/e help me?  :huh: Unfortunatly I have to admit I would mark that post as 'Epic' if possible.  :cheesy:
