Any tips of how to improve it? All I can see right now is the scroll pin things on the corners, and maybe the border.

Anything else?

All the buttons and stuff were just quickly made to show an example of what it will look like.**

Well I got two screens, laptop and monitor on top. On the monitor it looks a bit darker and not glow as much. I kind of want a tiny glow but you can see it glowing right off the scroll which I don't want.

I made everything, even the texture, so I don't know how to "iron" it :P

What I would do in that case is this, Look around for a blank sprite template in a style you like. Then pd all the stuff for it yourself. ^_^ I know there are some around the resource section, but you can probably find a better one if you look hard enough on the net.

the things bothering me are the pins, which you already are thinking of other ideas so that's good.

and the bottom roll part. it would cast a shadow on the parchment too just cus of the way it works. the highlight on the roll part is good, but it needs the shadow under the roll to make it look like it's on top of the parchment.

if you look closely, yeah the texture seems a bit off, but i think when you slap some text on there, it's gonna be more difficult to notice.

and i agree with whoever said make the buttons fancy calligraphy. don't ruin the illusion you've made by putting buttons on it, use images with fancy text/arrows/whatever.

great job man, it looks nice.

Thanks for the input, I'm actually working on the pins, I'm trying eagle heads ;)
I have a small shadow on the top roll, do I need to make that one bigger and make a small shadow on the bottom roll?

Alright.

I made a kind of raven head, but its a bit too much like pixel art, the scroll part is too realistic for it.

Here is what it looks like so far:

It's not quite right. I'm not too sure on how to get it to blend with the scroll better.

Well I skipped two classes today already, I gotta go to my last one because I know a guy who is pro with flash and I need his help on some scripting.

I'll try to fix it after school. Also, the heads have a good shape and what not?

Yeah that looks good, but the heads don't quite fit it. I need to do something with those.

When you put your mouse over the buttons I make them turn gold.

hmm… how about something like this? (keep in mind this is a 45 second update so i didn't put time into making it look too nice.)

-made the heads smaller and added the edges

Yeah I was going to say it needs round shaped things before the head. I was looking at pics of real ones and they all had a round part, and then a long dull pin. I am going to try the heads thing again and if it won't work I'll make real looking ones. (long pin instead of head)
