is it possible to get vb6 on windows vista? i got the disc and all but i cant get it to work any help would be appreciated, thanks!

I have VB6 working on Vista fine, so it is possible. What is the error and when do you get it ?

everytime i try to open it, i get an error saying something about a file was not installed, but everything from the disk is on the computer

You did run the setup from the disc, not just copy the files, right?

You could try just googling that file. If it's a dll you'll find a download for it right away, then you just put it whereever it's supposed to go and that should work.  If it's not a dll, well, then there is probably something wrong with the installer you have.

'msvbm60.dll' could no be registered is what it says when i try to open it

1\. Download that file.
2\. Put it into C:\Windows\System32\
3\. Make sure you are an admin, and UAC is disabled.
4\. Start > Run
5\. Type in: regsvr32 C:\Windows\System32\msvbm60.dll

That should fix it.
