As some of you (those who play tf2) may know, a new update was released today. When I found out about it today, I learned that valve was adding micro transactions. When I first heard this I thought "Oh, I have played other games with MT, and this seems like it will actually turn out really well." But I was wrong. Dead ducking wrong. After some further research, I "found out" that Items will cost between $0.49 and $4.99 on Kotaku. I patched up and finally got the shop open, and my jaw dropped. All my respect for valve is gone. The price of all the new items (when not on sale, starting Monday) is $135\. You probably think I am joking. I am not. The total cost of everything in the store (not including things, like paint, you might buy more than once) is $359.20\. With that, I could go buy SC2 collectors, Reach legendary, and that leaves a good $120 or so for 2 NEW FULL PRICED GAMES. This is a complete ripoff. Honestly, I don't mind the microtrans model, but Valve just took it to far.

because duck you.

Doesn't it seem obvious to you that those are placeholder prices? Well I would be suprised if they are not but who knows.

They seem to be around £1-£4 now. And since there are around 4 for each class. 6 classes have new items. Understand this, THERE ARE A LOT OF ITEMS. So everything added up is BOUND to cost a lot. And if you counted everything, then it is bound to be a lot. There are weapons, hats (oh boy there are a lot of hats).

Valve doesn't expect you to go out and buy every single item from the list.

You can craft them if you want anyway. I did that with the Spy's knife.

Get over it and play the game. Valve has been giving out free stuff for TF2 for years, stop crying about a change for people who dont want to have to wait ages for random drops or crafting.

Way to take something out of context and distort it and make a thread that wastes time.. :(
