Guest
![](http://i.imgur.com/EMPTKLb.png?1)_With this, I present to thee, the most unfinished sidescrolling engine of your time. _**Synopsis**So basically…I started Chaoscraft as a legitimate project, We created some awesome 2D graphics that I enjoyed very much, it taught me a lot. However, due to some circumstances the team grew distant and eventually fell apart, We had dreams of converting to a Java engine and got lost in the work and contact was broken. With that, I have the rest of the Visual Basic 6 engine that we intended to use before we moved to Java. Its currently very buggy, it has a PicScreen bug where the screen shows up all choppy and the main menu buttons do not show up until you scroll over them. Sadly, I have no coding experience so I will be going no further myself with this engine. If anyone has the audacity to want to fix the bugs or continue the engine, by a ll means feel free but please use credit where credit is due.**UPDATED 11/2/2014**Thanks to Jumbofile, he took it upon himself to rearrange GUI in a more neat fashion and fix the remaining bugs with the engine! The new download link has been posted. **Features*** Jump Items that increase your jump height capabilities * Working Friend System * Projectile System with an animation that plays upon hitting the target * Idle Animations * Npc attack Animations * Minimap (Credits to Ricardo) * Weather System * Event System (Credits to Jcsnider) * Quest System (Credits to Alatar) * Map Animation * NPC Spells * Autotile System * .mp3, .mp4, and .ogg support * Working Skill System that displays Runescape like skills with it owns recipe system **Credits** _Please credit all participants when using this engine, thank you_ _CMFiend420, Fabzy, Seb, Jcsnider, Mr.Miguu and Project Vertigo, Zopto and the DX7 Bubble Strikers Engine, Seth, JoshuaRay, and a big thanks to Jumbofile! Jumbofile
I have fixed the screen resolution problem but I decided I will turn this into a good base so everyone can have a good option for a sidescroller engine.I plan on:-Changing GUI-Re-Organizing Menu-More Bug fixes

I appreciate all the help ^^> What kind of recipe system? I will check it out later tonight but this sounds interesting :SBasically how it works is, you create a Recipe lets say you need 2 Wood and 1 Iron Ore to make an Arrow, and you need 3 fletching. The recipe system makes it so you can learn to make an Arrow through a recipe (somewhat like world of warcraft) as long as you have the required skill # and materials. You double click the recipe and as long as the materials are in your bag, they create the item and give you XP displayed on the Skills button of the GUI. Guest
Thanks mate, Jumbofile is doing an awesome job so far ironing out the bugs. He's eliminated the resolution bug as far as the PicScreen went and he's also changing the UI around to make it more eye appealing and easy to use, thus eliminating the MainMenu issue. He has yet to find any more bugs so once he's completed this, hopefully we can have an awesome release for you guys to use.
Murdoc
Looks pretty solid, and sounds like you care about the project. So good luck!
Guest
Thanks man, at the point its really out of my hands. I have absolutely no coding abilities. We used the DX7 Bubble Strikers engine (when it was a paid engine to buy) and we ironed out all the bugs and Seth added the Skills system and a few others. Once Jumbofile finishes moving around the UI, I think its a solid engine to release, but as far as adding anything, I think thats where it stops. Guest
Bump, just wanted to let everyone know the topic is updated, the picScreen has been fixed, the engine is good to go!
xXaden
why does the sprite just disappear and not display properly ? only sprite 1 works and i have to set that in the admin panel after getting in game, new character logging right in displays the wrong frames. just figured i would bring it to your attention, so far so good otherwise, nice and smooth jumping, i dig it. Npcs also do not show up correctly, even number 1 does not work right.
Guest
I'd suggest you use your own graphics, if you are then I'm not completely sure to be completely honest. The sprites and tiles that come with it are very imcomplete (and watermarked).
