Ispan
.:Northern Frontiers:._"In a land full of danger and opportunities you start your journey as a peasant in the Kingdom of Oakton. A world unlike any other, where Bandit Warlords and the Kingdom's armies are locked in a endless feud, where trade flourishes throughout the kingdom, a world where the humanoids control the days, and beasts control the nights."_**Contents*** Storyline* Features* Screenshots* Classes* Gameplay* Website**Storyline**This is going to happen last, so don't hold your breath.**Features**Your basic MMO/ORPG things (Guilds, Quests and the like)Dynamic DungeonsA dynamic dungeon system that scales the difficalty of the NPC's and Bosses based around the stats/level/previous experience making it harder for more experienced players and easier for new players.Basically it takes your party's information, Stats, Item level (Basicly every item is given a number based around its stats) and previous experience on dungeons, averages them and then scales the dungeon to a level that would be antiquate for everyone. With this there are still level restrictions of which limit high level players running lower level players through, if a large gap is detected it will not average the numbers and use the highest players stats hence making it near impossible for the low level player to "cheat" the game.Global TradingA system of which increases the price of items in towns of which items are being purchased in large quantities, and lowers it when they are not, much like a stock system. Making the game economy more dynamic. This allows for a new profession called Trading which is quite simple but hard to master (Will be explained in detail later)Dynamic MountsMounts that change speed depending on the amount of time they have been ridden for and the terrain they have been riding on.Dynamic Events/WorldQuests and events can trigger world changes that occur to certain players on certain parts of the Quest or Event such as buildings catching fire or small battles.ReputationYour player earns his reputation from doing quests in areas, these quests often give reputation towards the faction in the area and determine how NPC's from this faction will respond to the character.Dynamic EnvironmentA system that allows the migration of species throughout the world. Say a type of Tiger is hunted in one area, they will move to an area of which provides the sufficient resources for survival and keeps them out of harms way and they will slowly move back to their previous area.**Screenshots**![](http://northernfrontier.co.cc/content/wip/Wip_01.PNG)![](http://northernfrontier.co.cc/content/wip/Wip_02.PNG)**Classes**To be added**Game Play**The game is going to be played out threw chapters that follow a main story line throughout tiers of content that link a global set of quests together for a finished of which ends the set of Chapters and starts a new set of Chapters which work toward another goal.**Website**Will be released in about a week when Chapter 1 is released. Icie Juicy
Looks like you've got some good organizational skills, which will help out tremendously with your project. However the game progression sounds like it may be difficult to turn into an MMO rather than just an RPG.

Robin
@DDunit:> It's totally the graphics man.Obviously. The fog, the rain and the fact that he's got autotiles. What other aspect would make me think it's an online hack of RPG Maker? It's not the fucking storyline, is it?

Ispan
@Robin:> Looks like an online hack of RPG Maker.Nope not a hack. A set of clever scripts of which connect to a ruby based server that utilizes a MySQL server to store data in.@DDunit:> > This is going to happen last, so don't hold your breath.> > Hrm..> I believe you're right. That happens for most RMXP games. :oNo, its just the fact that i don't have a finished story, only 3/4 so i didn't want to post it because it wouldn't make sence. Robin
@HL:> Nope not a hack. A set of clever scripts of which connect to a ruby based server that utilizes a MySQL server to store data in.You've hacked together a server-client relationship for RPG Maker. Doesn't matter how you word it, it's still the same.
Murdoc
Exactly. RpgmakerXp wasnt made to be run online (probably for good reasons). Its a clever hack, thats been floatin around on the web for some time. If it ends up working, hey, eat your heart out.
