  1. @Azure, You have to think about bandwidth, power ect. It costs. Cheers, Tipsta
  2. What OS are you running, Server 2008, XP, Vista ect. What is your bandwidth like, thats one of the main aspects of hosting servers. Is this a personal computer? Or a dedicated computer for running servers on? Cheers, Tipsta

    Making Money

Hi, I still think the best way to do it is via phone, everyone has a phone, its cheap, and if its only micro payments it would work. All you really need to do is get the server to pull info out of a MySQL DB and add something to the clients ingame bank/ingame inventor. Client Chooses what to buy, Your phone payment processor sends text, They reply, If its correct the bill the phone. If the money goes then run the MySQL update and update the DB to say that player X has purchased 1 of item Z Then the server checks the DB every 30 seconds and will take X, 1, Z and delete it out of the DB and send 1 of Z to client X. Simple and it should work.

  6. Robins a Brit, there for he would have posted it when it was April 1 in his own timezone, which is not the same as everyone elses.
  7. Im back, Good night everyone its 1 a clock. Cheers, Tipsta
  8. Like to put some 2 cents in the whole topic, Robin, This is amazing, the engine, the time your putting into it. Its grown into an amazing engine and im looking forward to seeing its future developments. The rest, If your here asking Robin to put things in for you, think of it this way. Robin does this FOR FREE, he is not hired by Marsh, he gets nothing in return from releasing the engine for FREE, but he does so. The least you could do is stop bitching to him about it needing this or that, its getting there. Cheers, Tipsta
  9. But most hosts offer unlimited diskspace because they can just plug another drive into their server/sans to add more diskspace and the fact that they have their TOS written so they can take your account away when you use to much. As for bandwidth i agree with Nick.

    New website & forum

I still think this is the best Eclipse has looked in ages, with Fabio on the brink of releasing a beta of his Java client (Robin may be involved, i really don't have a clue), Robins amazing work with EO and the new site (Stop fucking complaining, write your own or GTFO) and all of the contributions to do with source code, Eclipse is looking quite good. CHeers, Tipsta

@Exvayate: > Also if anyones reading this, how can you make Origins play MP3 Files? Wrong thread buddy, Origns doesn't have the ability because you need to buy a license to distribute MP3's (After 1000 downloads, but hey) read the licensing topic.
  15. @Pebsie: > This tutorial was AWFUL. > You didn't explain hardly anything, and in the end it didn't work. > Just…terrible Your stupidity humors me.
  16. @мсичġġєт: > You sir, are spending too much time on your sprites. > > Anyway, he does look like he is eating something, his cheeks are pillowshaded. > > Try different tutorials, about shading etc. > > Warning - while you were typing a new reply has been posted. You may wish to review your post. Its my first sprite, not really worried about time. Yeah is should read some other tutorials.
  17. @grizzy: > It reminds me of a doll but I honestly like it. Better than anything I can make. How long did it take? About an hour and a half. Head was quite quick (Read the reference) the body took longer. Thanks for the criticism. @Absolute: > Looks like he is eating something. I honestly cannot see that. Thanks for the criticism. Time to cloth him Cheers, Tipsta
  18. Hello, These are the graphics for my project Northern Frontier (Insert W.I.P link here) please post **C**ONSTRUCTIVE **C**RITICISM. **Sprites** Male Base (Release 2 + Blue Clothed) ![](http://northernfrontier.co.cc/content/wip/Base_Release_02.png) ![](http://northernfrontier.co.cc/content/wip/Base_Release_Blue_01.png) This edit changed the legs, Anasky explained to me that they were to straight and a blue clothed version has been added. The images head was based off Azkanan's tutorial found [here](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/smf/index.php/topic,62095.0.html), the sprite body was based off what Slym said to me via MSN and some internet resources (Of which I have no link for ATM, will update this ASAP). The pallet im using was given to my by Beau (Kreator). >! ![](http://northernfrontier.co.cc/content/wip/Base_Release_01.png) >! 20. @Ashley: > @HL | Tepnet: I havent been around the forum fully, can you post a link to your project. http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/smf/index.php/topic,66829.0.html Not a great WIP, although I'm changing engine/redoing alot of the storyline and content(Not that there was much ;D)

  22. @Robin: > @HL: > > > Nope not a hack. A set of clever scripts of which connect to a ruby based server that utilizes a MySQL server to store data in. > > You've hacked together a server-client relationship for RPG Maker. Doesn't matter how you word it, it's still the same. Well seeing as Rpg Maker Xp has a built in scripting system, and if you create the relationship how is it a hack? @Murdoc: > Exactly. RpgmakerXp wasnt made to be run online (probably for good reasons). Its a clever hack, thats been floatin around on the web for some time. If it ends up working, hey, eat your heart out. I think your thinking of NetPlay, I'm using one thats been around for 7 or so months. EDIT REASON, Worded statement wrong.
  23. @Robin: > Looks like an online hack of RPG Maker. Nope not a hack. A set of clever scripts of which connect to a ruby based server that utilizes a MySQL server to store data in. @DDunit: > > This is going to happen last, so don't hold your breath. > > Hrm.. > I believe you're right. That happens for most RMXP games. :o No, its just the fact that i don't have a finished story, only 3/4 so i didn't want to post it because it wouldn't make sence.
