Ikeyzo
I'm currently working on an isometric game, and the characters don't look quite right when walking.I am using isometric sprites, so their all diagonal. This means that when I use them, they look kinda weird in game.Try them yourselves, you'll see what I mean.Has anyone got a pointer as to what I've done wrong? Thanks in advance.>! ![](http://img571.imageshack.us/img571/2581/spritesx.png)

shado360
I thought ISO sprites were supposed to face sideways :P

Guest
dude can't just have your engine convert to iso when you put in sprites and characters that are. You will actually have to go into the source and edit it so that the game is iso.
Ikeyzo
Isometric graphics are 2D that have been drawn to look like their 3D. It **should** require no modification whatsoever.
Chief
Wrong.Eclipse doesn't support Iso movement, nor Iso tiles, unless added by yourself or a programmer.

EclipseCommunity
First thing I noticed is that you only have 1 frame for walking, you need 2 frames, for each foot placed forward when moving, else it's going to look like it's leading with the 1 foot all the time, which to be honest, would indeed look rather strange.Has anybody ever tried walking like that? It's really funny :D
Guest
I think he means something along the lines of Reiners.
Ikeyzo
By needing modifications for the sprites, I assume you mean so you ca walk diagonally. I have already got that. When you say I would need a mod for the tiles, I have absolutely no idea what you mean. You lie it out like any other tileset, and it just works that way… I've been doing that for Iso Tilesets for a whole now, and it works fine for me.As for 'something along the lines of Reiners' that could work, but I'm really more focused on mainly just getting ISO properly working. While this thread has been open, I've figured out most of it myself anyway. Thanks for the help.
Robin
Rendering the tiles is the easy part. What you need to do is swap movement out so it goes diagonally. It's very possible but you asked if you could do this in Origins without modifying the engine - you can't.
