cheatking
So much clutter.
Anna Comnena
Yeah it's a bit on the cluttered side. Also you should have the baby pine and the sapling tiles; you should put of few of those down to vary the foliage.A quick easy rule about small details, is you shouldn't have the same one lined up with the same detail on the same row or column, unless the map is very large. Also the same detail tiles right next to eachother is a no-no (although you generally avoid it).Basic design wise they look good though, and actually look like forests! Your cliffs are also done well.
Drummerpete
I agree with the others.Throw in some more tree variations and remove some of the clutter on the floor and it'll be brilliant.
Robin
Needs more trees. And remove the shadows if you're not going to have them alpha blended.
kyoghin
Yeah you could use more trees. You can add more trees sticking out to the sides of your map without sacrificing too much viewing space.
Anna Comnena
@Robin:> Needs more trees. And remove the shadows if you're not going to have them alpha blended.I agree about the shadows, but with rmxp tiles, you use the exact same tree over and over and over to make ugly forests; so the amount of trees are good enough.:P
Enkel
18.03.2011 Small Update. Drummerpete
Still a little bit too cluttered.
Chief
Use more of the long grass, and less of a mess with the other things. The majority of a forest is long grass, people dont cut the grass, so use way more of it.
ToshiroHayate
I agree. You have to tone it down a few notches with the little flowers and stuff.
NnsNightshade
This is pretty funny as usually new mappers have trouble filling in empty space, and here you are making things wayyy too cluttered and complicated :P
Anna Comnena
@NnsNightshade:> This is pretty funny as usually new mappers have trouble filling in empty space, and here you are making things wayyy too cluttered and complicated :PHaha yeah, there's stages: 1\. empty, no detail; 2\. too much detail; 3\. nice balance
NnsNightshade
I guessed they already reached stage 2 then~ <
MrKris
There should not be wood chipping everywhere. On the house, why is there an axe over the door? Just try and put less leafs and rocks, more trees and grass.
