Tala
I ma trying to run EO on wine, but i am having a problem with the client. For some reason the DirectX object, or any objects made at runtime for that matter. All the dll and ocx files needed are installed and registered so i don't see why this is happening. When I was able to debug it in VB6 i got **DX7 = Nothing**, but now not even vb6 ide is loading so IDK. Admiral Refuge
I got an early version of EO to run on wine, just had to install the library files and some sort of directX plugin for wine, iirc.May have to set it to run for another OS (e.g. Windows 98) as well, I forget. It ran like crap though.. ToshiroHayate
Problem is with Wine, it runs Direct X freaking horribly most of the time. Engines like Game Maker 8 and Eclipse Origins, have a very low rate of actually working. Though it depends on your system as well.
Conra
The one i set up had 11 of my friends on and there wasn't even the slightest sign of lagging or anything bad. And it is one of the smallest vps's available. It just takes a tiny bit of work and you can set it up.
Robin
He said he got the server running fine. It's the client which is the problem.

Anyone know where i can get a Dx7 download, cause ive installed 8 & 9 but those didnt fix it.
