The New World
It is possible. You'd have to change the way the sprite format is read, and then add the proper changes to the sprite when activating the extra movement directions.
Charles-Z
it needs scripting right? where could I find this "sprite format"? and is it possible to make it mouse controlled pathfinding?
Rob Janes
If you look at my old SamuMod , where it is now, that had 8 way movement in EO1.1, so you could base your new 8 way movement on that.
_Her0
Of course it's possible. Many 2D game's implement this, but you will need frames for the now diagonal movement, which you will have to create, if your using custom graphics. It's not possible with RMXP.![](http://img263.imageshack.us/img263/4239/gridk.png)Helbreath does it. And it's a great 2D MMO.
RyokuHasu
it IS possible with RMXP, but no one is willing to create replicas of every sprite that look legit going diagonal. =Pjust WAY to much effort needed.
Robin
Perfectly possible to do 8-direction movement with 4-direction characters. Look at Zelda.
