This is my first MMO made, so I need a bit of help on basic things

Hi hi. So my name is Grovvycko.

I've never built an MMO before, but I've actually wanted to for several years. Only yesterday did I actually begin.

So I have some kinda noob questions… Sorry! I've been trying to figure these out, but I can't find the answer to them.

I tried flipping through the FAQs and such to no help.

Onto my stupidity~!

Controls Related

* How do I run in Eclipse Origins? Shift slows me down…
* What are the shortcuts to using Spells?

Music Related

* What file types of music does Eclipse support?
* I've noticed that .midi files work… is there anything that can maybe translate files into .midi?

Items Related

* How do I change/add/delete the names of items?

Map Related

* How do I add maps?

Class Related

* Is it possible to make gender specific classes? If so, how?

AutoUpdater

* Every time I try to open the autoupdater and run it, I get this error: Runtime error: '13' Type mismatch. What is this and how do I fix it? (I have the runtimes files installed)

Misc

* How do I change the game icon?
* How do I change the game from saying "Eclipse Origins" in the task menu to my game name?
* How do I change where _everyone_ spawns when they faint/start a new character/etc?

I'm guessing with the auto updater you need to run it as administrator.

For the updater run it through the IDE (so debug it in the IDE) and it will highlight the line that is giving you the type mismatch.

Ya it's like that…

in VB6  look for

' Speed moving vars
```and change the values under it to what you want.

you have to drag them to the hot bar then use the "F" keys

You can not change regular music files into midi files. You will either have to add .mp3 support or find some midi music.

on the server right click your name then "Make Admin". Back in the game press Insert (INS) on your keyboard and click on Items.

You can also edit any game content with the admin panel

If you followed the steps above… Open the admin panel then int he map warp enter a map number and click the warp button. this will create a new map, then using the map editor you can make the make from there.

Simple way…. Just don't add any sprites of a specific gender to a class.

you might not have set it up correctly.

In VB6 click on the "Project" menu then click on "EO Properties" and click on the "make" tab.

In the form Properties in VB6.

IDE means "Integrated development environment" , In this case Visual Basic 6, VB6.

its the language that Eclipse is programmed in and you need it to change any of the game features or add new ones.

And I tried doing what the tutorial said upon how to set up my autoupdater, but I still get the error

EDIT; NVM I just forgot to change the URL to the update location. Derp.

Wait, um, how am I supposed to change the icon if Microsoft no longer supports Visual Basic 6? ._.'

And what's MP3 support? <~>

adding MP3 Support is coding in the ability to play MP3s

And you can still use VB6 on any windows computer, you just have to find an Illegal, or legal, download for it.

XD you wouldn't necessarily get arrested. If that was the case no one would be on eclipse. And don't tell me you haven't downloaded any illegal music =P it's the same thing really.

But really the chances of something happening because you download VB6 is very low… unless you advertise that you are doing it or you download it from an un trustworthy source.

The only thing is that we cant tell you where to get VB6 =P
