  1. ….. B-but wait, my client has a data files, and so does my autoupdater. Should I just mesh it into one, or...? I see, a .zip or .rar would work /has winrar
  2. OK. I see. So with files to send: Autoupdater: .exe, Data Files folder Client: .exe, Data Files folder If I am not mistaken. So exactly _how_ do I send it to people?
  3. Bluefroggy, I'm saying that I'll be replacing my client files, not my Autoupdater files. I'm concerned for the game's data if I do that. – Stein, I don't have to worry about VB6\. xD This MMO of mine is literally a giant map for someone, so it doesn't have anything fancy.
  4. OK ummmm if I copy/paste the files I was told to put into the Client Folder to get the Autoupdater to work, then it'll replace my game's Data Files/SRC folder. Is that supposed to happen? Or am I missing something?
  5. Oh. Well then. How about my other questions?
  6. I have a question about the autoupdater it's self… If I put those files in my Client folder, it'll replace the "Data files" and "src" folder in my Client. Or am I missing somethere there? So basically I send them the .rar made for the Autoupdater + Hamachi + Runtimes + The Updater it's self?
  7. Um…. Can I please get a reply...? The rules said I could bump this after 3 days, so... Yeah. Thanks.
  8. So I'd like to start sharing my client and autoupdater with other people. But I'm not sure which files to send/how to send/how to give a download/etc. For the autoupdater, I **have** read the guide on **how to set it up.** However, I still have a question. What file(s) do I give to the players? I'm also not sure on what file(s) to give to my players as well. As well, I'm confused on how Hamachi plays into this. I know it has something to do with letting the server work on their computers? I'm really sorry for my noob questions, but um, this is my first ever MMO. ^^; Everyone has to start somewhere, right? So if there's a guide or something that I missed or you know how, can you please tell me? Thanks~
  9. D: I don't have many sprites formatted at the moment. I'm on like. Ekans.
  10. I'm actually making one myself, Fernz. xD Been meaning to for a while. Thanks for the feedback. I plan to try and replace the videos… But with all I'm doing, that won't be for a while.
  11. Thanks. I just hate how bad the videos were. :( My computer lags a lot when I use HyperCam, but I don't know a different program like it that my computer can handle.
  12. [This is my first tutorial. Don't shoot me, ;A;] I was flipping around, and noticed that were wasn't a really through guide on how to add a character to your game. So here we are. How to add a character to your game, and NOT have it all glitchy. First thing is first. You'll need a base character, a drawing program such at paint (I use Paint.NET in this tutorial), and the sprites that you want to add. My MMO is a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon one, personally, so I'll be adding something called a Pidgeot. **STEP 1** Open up your [base sprite sheet](http://i923.photobucket.com/albums/ad71/lunarstar911/IDK/Character1.png) and your [to-be-added sprite sheet](http://i923.photobucket.com/albums/ad71/lunarstar911/IDK/Character2.png). If you don't know how to open them, I'd recommend stopping right now. **STEP 2** Decide on which you think would be the [widest sprite](http://i923.photobucket.com/albums/ad71/lunarstar911/IDK/Character3.png). Compare them to other if you are unsure ([1](http://i923.photobucket.com/albums/ad71/lunarstar911/IDK/Character4.png), [2](http://i923.photobucket.com/albums/ad71/lunarstar911/IDK/Character5.png)). **STEP 3** Once you have the widest sprite copied and decided, put it on your sprite sheet according to where it matches. In this case, it is facing where you would go if you pressed the right arrow key (Right Direction), and it is putting it's left foot forward (Left Foot). So, it would go to what matches on the sprite sheet (Left Foot Right Direction sprite). Though this one doesn't show, you can assume that it would be the second one in the row, because of what the quick guide made by the staff said. Try to centralize the sprite as best as you can to the previous one. Remove any remaining marks from the old sprite. (Sorry for the lag in this video. HyperCam slows me down.) (And yes, I realize there is random time at the end where nothing happens. I have no idea why, nor can I easily fix it) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WF4hSLvwi4Q&feature=youtu.be **STEP 4** The annoying part. Count the pixel width of the sprite you just added, plus 1 pixel on each end. Once you do that, copy the bar. Paste it right next to the first bar, and color it as something different. Repeat until you have four different colored bars (I suggest red, yellow, sea green, and purple). Then, crop the page to fit the new width. If there is not enough room, increase the size of the canvas. Then, take the multicolored bar and paste it directly underneath the other rows of sprites. I'd suggest saving. When you save it, name it as the next number in line. What I mean by that is, say you have sprite sheets 1, 2, and 3\. So this next one would need to be 4\. If you save it as 5 instead of 4, it _will not_ load on the game until you put in a four. (Yes, more lag. Sorry) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ctnFzJN0BqE&feature=youtu.be **STEP 5** Put in your sprites. Centralize them in their color bar as best as possible. Then, erase the color bars. Save. [It should look like this now.](http://i923.photobucket.com/albums/ad71/lunarstar911/IDK/18-1.png) **That's all there is to it. Once you're done, load up your game and check the sprite! If there are glitches (which there shouldn't be if you did this right), open up the sprite sheet and try to fix it. Good luck, have fun, and hope this helped!**
  13. I'd say just change the tilesets. Say you have a tileset that goes over that limit and it has… um... cliffs. All you need to do is just make another page, and move the cliffs that goes over the limit to the new tileset, and label it cliffs 2 or something, I dunno. In theory, untested by me. :D
  14. That video made me laugh…. xD And yes, I know. But anyone who does have a copy of it wants money for it. In other words, something I don't have. I'll just deal with the set icon and the questions that will probably come
